Bikini clad Britney Spears shares a new yoga video
As Britney Spears kicks off the new decade, she's focused on staying grounded and releasing whatever's "bottled up" inside her through exercise. Clad in a purple string bikini, the singer shared a new video on Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 2, that showed her doing some outdoor yoga. "Today I'm outside and I'm about to do a little bit of yoga to open up my back and my chest, and I'm out here with my dogs and we're going to have a beautiful day," she says at the beginning of the video. From there, the clip cuts to Britney, 38, doing some neck rolls followed by what looks like a Vinyasa flow sequence that she tweaks with a bit of dance-inspired hip action. "In 2020 I will be doing a lot more acro yoga and the basics for yoga," she explained in the caption. "I'm a beginner and it's kind of hard to let go …. learning to trust and letting someone else hold your body 😳 !!! I have a lot of things I keep bottled up so I have to keep my body moving !!!!" The caption continued: "Thank God for Mother Nature …. she's really no joke …. she grounds me and helps me find my feet and always opens my mind when I step outside …. !!!! I was lucky today with this beautiful weather 🍀🍀🌸🌸🌸☀️." Before signing off, Britney told her followers she's also been working on her sprinting skills. "I just flew in from a trip with my family and I ran a 6.8 speed outside my house for a 100 meter yard dash … I did 6 in high school so I'm trying to gain speed !!!!" she wrote, adding, "I hurt my thigh so I apologize if my legs look swollen 😔😔🙄🙄🙄," and "PS I'm so cool with my tennis shoes and yoga 🧘♀️. It's the new thing you know 😹😹😹😜😜 !!!!" Brit, who spent the holidays with her boyfriend Sam Asghari, has been posting exercise videos somewhat regularly since last spring, when she posted a clip of herself "getting ready" for summer at the gym.

Donnie Wahlberg leaves a $2,020 tip on a $75 IHOP bill
Donnie Wahlberg's said in the past that he has a special appreciation for the service industry, having grown up with a mom who waited tables and a dad who tended bar. The "NKOTB" alum made that appreciation crystal clear on New Year's Day after he and Jenny McCarthy enjoyed breakfast with their son and some of his friends at an IHOP near their home in Illinois. "@donniewahlberg starting 2020 off like the amazing man he is," Jenny tweeted, sharing a photo of the receipt, on which Donnie had left a $2,020 on a $75.45 bill in honor of 2020. "Thanks Bethany," he wrote, adding, "Happy New Year," and "2020 Tip Challenge." According to People, the tip challenge started in Michigan as a means of paying it forward in the new year. The waitress, Bethany Provencher, told People she "was a very big New Kids on the Block fan" as a kid and admitted she "didn't want to freak out at the table" so she went to the ladies room "and was like, 'oh my god!'" Bethany, 37, said she "started crying" over the generous gesture. "I just moved into an apartment, I'm a single mother — by myself with my son. So I struggle every day to make ends meet. And now I can buy furniture and put some money in the bank, and make sure my son is good," she said. "Donnie called me at the restaurant and I spoke to him. I really wanted to thank him and Jenny because they don't even understand what they did for me," she said. "God put him there for a reason for me, and I know that … It's the greatest thing to ever happen in my life."
Stephen Dorff almost quit acting after his brother's death
Stephen Dorff returned to the small screen — and the police badge — this week as interim sheriff Bill Hollister on Fox's "Deputy." But as he recently told People, it wasn't long ago that he thought he'd never act again. "Two years ago, I was pretty much going to stop acting because I was just bored and not liking the parts I was getting. I lost my little brother and I was pretty much done," he recalls in a new interview. Nashville-based songwriter Andrew Dorff died of unknown causes in December 2016 while vacationing in Turks and Caicos. The following year, Stephen told Larry King only that, "there was some drinking involved, there was a Jacuzzi involved and there was water involved." Speaking to People about the loss, Stephen, 46, says: "I still miss him every day and I don't understand why certain things happen but life is hard. I was very lucky growing up, I had an amazing family. As I've gotten older, I've been punched in the gut a few times after losing a few members of my family. If anything, we grow and learn. I put it into my work." His perspective became more positive when he was cast in "True Detective" alongside Mahershala Ali for the show's third season. "That changed everything because I went from not wanting to do anything to having a lot of options and a lot of interesting opportunities come my way," he says. "It was exactly what I needed."

During Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's family vacation in Canada this week, the couple reportedly took a break from a New Year's Day hike on Vancouver Island to help another young couple with a selfie they were struggling to take. "We took a little picnic out and we were finishing up and trying to get some selfies with the nice backdrop when a woman came up to us and asked if we wanted her to take our photo," Asymina Kantorowicz, 29, recalled to People of the surprise royal encounter she and her boyfriend had. "I'm a 'Suits' fan and I first noticed Abigail and then I looked up and realized it was Meghan taking the photo. Then I looked back at the group and realized Prince Harry was there too!" she said. "The only thing I could think to say to her was, 'There's only so much that selfie sticks can do.' She laughed and said something like, 'We'll have to take a good photo then,' and then Harry said, 'No pressure,'" she continued. "She was just super friendly. Honestly, it was just so nice of them. We wouldn't have seen them if they hadn't approached us. She saw us struggling to take photos." Asymina said the four then wished one another a happy New Year went on their way. "She seemed happy and down to earth — she was just enjoying her New Year's hike with her husband and friend. She and Harry seemed really happy — like a happy newly married couple. I wish baby Archie had been there! I hope they're enjoying their stay on Vancouver Island." Meghan and Harry have been traveling with their son Archie and Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland, according to People.

Rose McGowan faces backlash over apology to Iran
Hundreds of Twitter users clapped back at Rose McGowan on Friday, Jan. 3, after she apologized to Iran for the Donald Trump-ordered airstrike that killed Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, sparking Iranian leaders to vow a "forceful revenge" against America. "Dear #Iran, The USA has disrespected your country, your flag, your people. 52% of us humbly apologize. We want peace with your nation. We are being held hostage by a terrorist regime. We do not know how to escape. Please do not kill us. #Soleimani," the actress tweeted (via Newsweek). The post garnered negative reactions ranging from comments about the late general's terrorist ties and history of ordering deadly attacks on Americans to tweets urging Rose to move to Iran. "Of course #Soleimani was an evil evil man who did evil evil things. But that at this moment is not the f—— point. The United States is morally corrupt and acts illegally. It is only logical to appeal to Iran's pride by apologizing. I'm taking one for the team. #TeamStayAlive," she wrote as #DearRose and #MoveToIran began trending. In another follow-up tweet, Rose clarified, "I do not side with Iran, but I most definitely do not side with the USA."
