Angelina Jolie debuts a new tattoo about truth amid reports she's reconnecting with ex Jonny Lee Miller
Angelina Jolie recently added a new tattoo to her large collection. The new black ink on her forearm features the Italian words "Eppur si muove," according to ET. Long attributed to astronomer and mathematician Galileo Galilei, who allegedly said the words during or around the time of his heresy trial in 1633, they translate to, "And yet it moves." Galileo is said to have uttered the phrase after he was forced to take back his assertion that the Earth revolves around the sun, despite evidence he had that seemed to prove our planet was not at the center of the universe. "And yet it moves" is now thought to be a reference to the prevailing power of truth. Angie's new tat comes amid reports the actress, director and humanitarian could be reconciling with first ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller as she continues to fight for custody of her children with third ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter has never seen any of her films
Ah, the joys of having teenagers! Gwyneth Paltrow revealed this week that her 17-year-old daughter, Apple Martin, has never seen her Oscar-winning mom's films. In fact, Apple apparently thinks it's "weird" when her mom pops up on the big screen, Gwyneth said on the "Today" show's "Shop With Jill Martin" on June 17. "My kids have never seen me in a movie," Gwyneth admitted. "I mean, I think my son has seen the 'Iron Man' things, but I don't think my daughter has ever seen me in a movie." Rather than having her mom get "weird" and show up at the local multiplex, the Goop founder said her daughter is happiest keeping Gwyneth in her heart. "She says she likes me here," Gwyneth said with a giggle as she put her hands over her chest. Gwyneth and her ex-husband-slash-close pal Chris Martin share Apple and Moses, 15.

Britney Spears responds to fans on whether she'll perform again
With less than a week to go before her next conservatorship hearing, Britney Spears hopped on Instagram on June 17 and answered fans' questions about whether she plans to return to performing. "OK, so I hear that you guys have been writing in and I'm here to answer all of your questions," the singer, 39, says in the new clip. "The question is, 'Am I ready to take the stage again? Am I going to take the stage again? Will I ever take the stage again?'" she asks. "I have no idea," Britney admits. "I'm having fun right now, I'm in a transition in my life and I'm enjoying myself so, that's it." Brit's previously hinted music is not a priority for her right now. She's also said she won't perform as long as her father, Jamie Spears, is involved with her conservatorship, as he has been since 2008. (And in March 2020, Britney and Kevin Federline's son Jayden snuck onto social media and conducted a Q&A about his mom in which he claimed she'd told him she might "quit" music.) That said, the singer is expected to ask the court to remove Jamie from his role as co-conservator at her June 23 hearing. If he's removed, Britney could conceivably feel comfortable returning to the stage.

Mariah Carey's obsessing like it's 1999 … On June 16, Mimi marked the anniversary of her 2009 hit, "Obsessed," by reminiscing about how focused she was on avoiding COVID-19 by sanitizing everything around this time last year. Sharing a video that showed her doing TikTok's "Wipe It Down" challenge, the diva wrote on Instagram, "Just for laughs… from last year's lockdown when all I did was wipe tings down 🧽😂 #HappyAnniversaryObsessed." Like the original song — which Mariah reportedly released in response to Eminem's Mimi dis on "Bagpipes From Bagdad" at the height of their feud — the clip seems to poke fun at Em as Mariah alternates her outfits between a typical Mariah look and one where she's clad in a baggy sweatshirt, baseball hat and bandana. She's even rocking a little fake facial hair gristle as she sings, "Why are you obsessed with me?" The alleged obsession began in 2001 after Eminem infamously claimed the two dated. She denied his story and he promptly began dissing her publicly, sparking a feud that eventually roped in Nick Cannon, as well.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are elderly freedom fighters in new For the People Act ad
Katy Perry and her husband Orlando Bloom appear together in a new ad, "Transmissions from the Future," promoting the For the People Act, or voting rights bill HR1, which comes up for a vote in the Senate next week. The ad shows the couple as elderly freedom fighters in a dystopian version of 2055. The couple is desperately trying to warn Americans in 2021 that democracy won't survive without HR 1, which seeks to "expand Americans' access" to voting, "reduce the influence of big money in politics, strengthen ethics rules for public servants" and more, per Wikipedia. "You are our only hope, the America you know doesn't exist in our future," Orlando says from a bunker where he and Katy are under siege in the short film. "Democracy is dead. We have no voice. This future doesn't have to be. You have the power to change it. Save democracy while you can." Katy then chimes in, "It started when voter suppression ran wild all over America. The voting rights bills died in the Senate. Polling places closed. We lost our right to vote." According to Page Six, Orlando pointed out after making the short film that "70 percent of Americans support the For the People Act." Kay, meanwhile, noted, "As we saw most recently in Georgia and Texas, politicians are attacking our freedom to vote through passing laws that make it harder for seniors, veterans, communities of color, and rural voters to cast their ballots." She later urged fans to "call your senator immediately and tell them to vote in favor of the For the People Act," a call to action she's since repeated on Instagram.
Kevin Hart on discussing past scandals with his kids: 'It's going to come out'
In Netflix's "Fatherhood," adapted from Matthew Logelin's book, "Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss and Love," Kevin Hart plays a widower who's raising his daughter solo after the sudden death of his wife. The comedy-drama tackles issues related to race disparities (unlike the film, the parents in the book are white), how dads connect with daughters and the challenges of being honest with kids about life's hard truths. Kevin, 41, has some experience with the latter. Kevin stepped down from an Oscar hosting gig due to backlash over resurfaced homophobic tweets. He was blackmailed and forced to come clean about cheating on his wife when she was pregnant. (He later apologized publicly to her.) And as he recently told Romper.com, he feels strongly that parents like him have to be real with their kids about such scandals. "You have to talk to your kids about it because it's going to come out," he says. "And some of them are cool about it and some of them are not, depending on the situation. You have to understand the different personalities and manage them correctly." Kevin adds, "My kids understand who their father is. And, unfortunately, there's a gift and a curse that comes with that. The gift is the life that you're able to live, and the curse is the spotlight that's on you constantly."
Duchess Meghan's children's book hits No. 1 on the NYT Bestseller list
What began as a poem Duchess Meghan wrote for Prince Harry and their then-unborn son Archie, in 2019, is now a No. 1 New York Times Bestseller, one week after its release. Meghan marked the exciting news about her first children's book, "The Bench," on the Archewell Foundation website on June 16. "While this poem began as a love letter to my husband and son, I'm encouraged to see that its universal themes of love, representation and inclusivity are resonating with communities everywhere," Meghan says in the post. "In many ways, pursuing a more compassionate and equitable world begins with these core values. Equally, to depict another side of masculinity – one grounded in connection, emotion, and softness – is to model a world that so many would like to see for their sons and daughters alike." Illustrated with watercolors by award-winning artist Christian Robinson, the book, "captures moments of love and shared experiences between a diverse group of fathers and sons," according to the website. In addition to Archie, 2, Meghan and Harry share daughter, Lilibet, who was born on June 4.
Priyanka Chopra, Megan Rapinoe lead collective of new Victoria's Secret Angels replacements
Following this week's announcement that Victoria's Secret will trade its iconic runway "Angels" for an inclusive group of spokeswomen described by the New York Times as being "famous for their achievements and not their proportions," fans and haters alike are expressing strong opinions up and down social media. The "VS Collective initiative" includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas, soccer star Megan Rapinoe, #Girlgaze founder Amanda de Cadenet, trans model Valentina Sampaio and more athletes, models and pop figures selected in the hopes they can breathe new life into the brand, which has long been criticized for promoting female stereotypes based on "what men want," as the brand's CEO put it to the Times. "We needed to stop being about what men want and to be about what women want," brand exec Martin Waters said. The new collective of spokespeople will promote the brand in a different way than we've seen before, while women will be given more representation in the executive roles at the company. The plan already has some detractors, though. Referencing Megan Rapinoe, bestselling finance author Lynette KhalfaniCox asked on Twitter this week (via EW), "If she can rock a swimsuit like this (photographed by Sports Illustrated) why in the world can't she be a Victoria's Secret model? She's hot. Just look at her! Or do y'all just have a problem with strong, outspoken, empowered women?" Suggested writer Erin Ryan: "A better way for victoria's secret to revamp its brand would be to try changing it up by making high-quality bras that fit comfortably and look nice." The Victoria's Secret fashion show has been on hiatus since 2018. A revised version is expected to return next year.
Mark Ronson reflects on how being a workaholic affected his love life
Now that he's happily engaged to actress Grace Gummer, Mark Ronson is able to look back on previous relationships and see that he was prone to working so hard he neglected other aspects of life, like his first marriage. "Did the relationships not work because I was so driven, or was I so driven because I had a hole in my soul or psyche from something else? What was even driving me that much?" the DJ and producer asked himself on this week's "Boardroom: Out of Office" podcast (via Page Six). "Those workaholic tendencies became my best friend and my worst enemy at the same time," Mark admitted. "I was having success. So that's positive reinforcement for being a workaholic too, but I was also using it to run from s—. I was definitely using it because it was a crutch at times." Today, the 45-year-old Grammy winner understands how to loosen the reins he keeps on himself when it comes to the studio. "At some point, if you do want to have a little bit of stability and balance in your life, you have to learn to let go. So I think it took me a really long time to figure it out," he said. Mark split from his first wife, actress Josephine de La Baume in 2018.
