Van Jones predicts Kim Kardashian will make 'an unbelievable attorney'
CNN commentator Van Jones sees Kim Kardashian West as one of the country's "best advocates" for criminal justice. Van stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on May 24 to discuss "The First Step," a new documentary about his fight to reform the criminal justice system, which features an appearance from Kim. Asked about her advocacy work and her bar exam studies, Van told Ellen, "She's doing amazing." He went on to credit the reality star for leveraging her fame to assist in getting multiple harsh prison sentences commuted and pointed to the fact that an interest in law is in Kim's DNA. "She has used her platform to help people behind bars. Her dad [the late Robert Kardashian Sr.] was a lawyer, and she always wanted to be a lawyer," he explained, per People. "[Once she] got a taste of what she could do using her platform, using her brain, she hasn't let up." Kim, who's in the midst of divorcing Kanye West, reportedly met Van at the White House in 2018. Since then, Van's praised Kim and her work multiple times, doing little to quell recurring — if unsubstantiated — rumors the two are more than just friends. Speaking to Ellen, Van added, "I think she's gonna be an unbelievable attorney and she's already one of the best advocates that we have in criminal justice." "The First Step" premieres June 10 via the Tribeca Film Festival's online world premieres series.
Ben Affleck appears to be wearing the watch Jennifer Lopez gave him circa 2002 as Bennifer reunion hits Miami
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's rumored, rekindled romance is starting to look pretty serious. After spending time together in Los Angeles last week, the previously engaged stars popped up in Miami together over the weekend. And while Ben wasn't quite wearing his heart on his sleeve, he came pretty close. According to Twitter fan accounts, the actor's been sporting the same watch Jen gave him in her 2002 music video for "Jenny From the Block," which he continued to wear off camera while they dated. Given the theme of that video — J.Lo and her famous beau get frustrated as their privacy's violated by paparazzi — it seems like a good bet Ben's wearing the watch as a warning to overly curious cameras and others, like the spy that told E! News Jen "looked very happy to see him" after he arrived at the private home where they were spotted, or the "insider" that told Page Six they were "affectionate and looking very much in love" while leaving a Miami gym the next day. Famously known as "Bennifer" during their romance in the early 2000s, the two called it quits in 2004. By 2005, Jen was married to Marc Anthony, while Ben tied the knot with Jennifer Garner. He and J.Lo reportedly stayed friends for years before seemingly reconciling after Jen and Alex Rodriguez announced they'd split in April.

BBMA Icon Award winner Pink wows in aerial performance with her daughter, teases Jon Bon Jovi for breaking her heart
From her breathtaking, mother-daughter aerial performance to her Icon Award honor, the 2021 Billboard Music Awards belonged to Pink in a big way. The singer, 41, kicked off a medley of new music and classic hits with her new song, "Cover Me In Sunshine," an homage to waiting for the world to come back alongside someone you love. Pink and Carey Hart's 9-year-old daughter, Willow, who sings backing vocals on the track, joined her mom in the air for the number, twirling upside down and floating above the stage before the two came together for an emotional hug — and a double high-five. After Willow left the stage, Pink, clad in a gauzy, silver-studded black dress, performed another new tune, "All I Know So Far," before jumping back through the years with "So What," "Who Knew?" and "Just Give Me a Reason." Afterwards, Icon Award presenter Jon Bon Jovi gushed about his "deep respect for her artistry and her ever-growing legacy," according to People. He also recalled meeting the singer when she was about 22. "She told me she had a crush on me when she was just 7 years old, and that when she heard that I'd been married, broke her heart," he revealed, adding that the goofy gift and note he later sent as to "make up for" being off the market sparked a long friendship between the two. When Pink took the mic to accept the Icon Award, she began by responding to (and correcting) Jon on the heartbreak story. "I did not come out of my room for a week when you married Dorothea [in 1989]," she told him. "I was 8. I ripped your poster off my wall, and I replaced you with Sebastian Bach. I'm very glad that you found lasting love Jon, but you broke my heart." Laughing, she added, "I take this as an apology. I accept." After shouting-out Willow and her son, Jameson, 4, Pink told the crowd, "I love what I do, and I love the people that I get to do it with," she said. "And we're pretty good at what we do, but it wouldn't matter if no one came to see us and play with us. So all you guys out there and around the world, thank you for coming out. Thank you for letting us all feel together. I cannot wait until we can do it again, and until we can just sweat all over each other." Before leaving the stage, she said, "This is an absolute honor," and advised the audience, "Dream big because what if it comes true?"

Emma Stone's baby name revealed
Emma Stone and her husband, "Saturday Night Live" segment director Dave McCary's new addition is reportedly named in honor of Emma's grandmother. TMZ reports the couple, who welcomed their first child back in March, named their daughter Louise Jean McCary. Jean is also Emma's middle name and was reportedly chosen as a tribute to Emma's grandma. The actress currently stars in Disney's "Cruella," which sets Cruella de Vil's origin story against the backdrop of London's 1970s punk scene. Emma and Dave tend to keep their private lives mostly out of the spotlight, but she told ET last fall after news of her pregnancy emerged, "I feel pretty good about starting my own pack."
Dua Lipa addresses NYT ad accusing her of anti-Semitism
One day after a cease-fire ended 11 days of violent conflict between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza, an organization called the World Values Network ran a full-page ad in the New York Times slamming Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid for speaking out in support of Palestinians. Published over the weekend, the ad accused Dua and the Hadids of "anti-Semitism" for their stances on the fighting, which has killed at least 240 Palestinians and 12 Israelis. "Bella, Gigi and Dua, Hamas calls for a second Holocaust. CONDEMN THEM NOW," the ad read, according to Vulture. The organization, founded by controversial Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, went on to allege "the three mega-influencers have vilified the Jewish state" with their "disgusting libel" about Israel. Dua promptly responded with a statement on Twitter on May 22. "I utterly reject the false and appalling allegations that were published in the New York Times advertisement," wrote Dua, who's dating Gigi and Bella's brother, Anwar Hadid. Condemning the World Values Network for "shamelessly using my name to advance their ugly campaign with falsehoods and blatant misrepresentations of who I am and what I stand for," the singer asserted, "I stand in solidarity with all oppressed people and reject all forms of racism." She added, "I believe that everyone — Jews, Muslims, and Christians — have the right to live in peace as equal citizens of a state they choose." Gigi, Bella and Anwar's father, Mohamed Hadid, is Palestinian. Though the models have refrained from posting about the conflict since the middle of May, they both defended Palestine when the fighting erupted. "It has always been #freepalestine," Bella tweeted in part on May 15. "ALWAYS. I have a lot to say about this but for now , please read and educate yourself. This is not about religion. This is not about spewing hate on one or the other. This is about Israeli colonization , ethnic cleansing , military occupation and apartheid over the Palestinian people that has been going on for YEARS!" The Weeknd, Roger Waters and other celebs have also vowed to support and defend Palestine amid the conflict.
Twitter reacts to Lindsay Lohan's 'Overboard'-esque comeback rom-com
Lindsay Lohan is headed back to a screen near you. Netflix announced this week that the "Mean Girls" star is set to lead the cast of a new rom-com this holiday season — and Twitter has some feelings about the whole thing. The project, which has yet to get a title, "is about a newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident," according to Variety. If the premise sounds a teensy bit familiar — spoiled heiress meets blue collar guy after a vacay bout with memory loss — that's probably because it's an awful lot like Goldie Hawn's 1987 gem, "Overboard," as Twitter was quick to point out on May 24. "Didn't they already remake Overboard?" one user wondered (via NickiSwift). "So Overboard. She'll star in Overboard, a second person tweeted. While a number of Lindsay's fans posted in defense of the plot, "Overboard"-esque though it may be, some pointed to a different kind of throwback coincidence. "Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are back now Lindsay Lohan is back to acting …," wrote one confused user. "Feels like the early 2000's is back."
Are Mark Ronson and Grace Gummer engaged?
Meryl Streep could soon be the mother of the bride! Over the weekend, Page Six published photos showing the Oscar winner's daughter, "Mr. Robot" actress Grace Gummer, wearing a giant diamond on her left ring finger while walking around London with her rumored boyfriend, producer Mark Ronson. Grace, 35, and Mark, 45, look totally smitten in the pics, which show the two clasping hands and sharing a kiss or two while grinning ear to ear. The two were first linked back in September. Mark was previously married to French actress Josephine de La Baume for six years.
