Did someone spike Matt Damon's water? Because when the actor zoomed in from Australia to promote his new film, "Stillwater," on the May 11 edition of "Today," he assured Hoda Kotb and Savanna Guthrie no amount of libations would convince him to weigh in on the romance rumors swirling around his bestie, Ben Affleck, and Ben's newly single ex-fiance, Jennifer Lopez. Alas, Matt's silence didn't last too long. "There's not enough liquor in the world for you to get me to say something about that," Matt cracked when asked about Ben and J.Lo, who were recently spotted together at a Montana resort. "I just heard you guys," he said. "I was sitting here waiting to come on TV. It's the first time I heard about it." Now that Matt's up to date, though, he appears to be all for a reconciliation if that's in the cars for the erstwhile "Bennifer." "It's a fascinating story. I hope it's true," Matt said, adding, "I love them both. I hope it's true. That would be awesome."

Katie Thurston's new "The Bachelorette" season doesn't premiere until June, but the "The Bachelor" alum is already fielding fan theories about how it will end — and some fans now think Katie could end up with a woman. Following the release of ABC's first teaser for the season on May 10, the reality star shared a photo on Instagram that showed her sitting beneath a "GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS" sign while Casandra Suarez, who Katie became close with when they both starred on Matt James' season of "The Bachelor," kissed her neck. "Whatever floats your boat," Katie captioned the pic. The post sparked some confusion, particularly given that she's been spotted without a ring since wrapping her season. Casandra's comment on the pic, "So did Katie actually end up with me – yes or no?" only confused people further. Meanwhile, per NickiSwift.com, the pic inspired lots of support for a potential season where both the bachelorette and her suitors are women. It also annoyed users who thought the reality star was pretending to be interested in women for attention. "Bro if you're not bi, please dont queer bait," one person wrote. "Girls kissing girls is a real thing. Not a joke or a costume or something edgy." Finally, Katie hopped back on Instagram to clarify that she was not trying to announce something about a previously undisclosed sexual preference. "I did not intend for this picture to be a statement about my sexuality," she wrote. "This is simply a friendship post. I've never spoken publicly about my sexuality nor am I doing so with this picture. Nothing but love for everyone." She later explained on her Story that she'd taken down the original photo after reading comments that explained why members of the LGBTQ+ community found the picture offensive. After apologizing, she vowed to learn from her "mistakes," telling fans, "I want to always be an ally and today I'm sorry I let you down."

With a new single out and an album on the way, Billie Eilish kicked off the week with back to back appearances on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on May 10 and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on May 11. And while both hosts asked about Billie's new song, "Your Power," and forthcoming LP, "Happier Than Ever," there was also plenty of discussion about — you guessed it — that newly blondified hair. "I've been wanting blonde for a while, I don't know what came over me. I saw a fan-edit when I had green hair, it was me with whatever color hair I had, and they edited blonde hair on me and I was like 'Ah! So sick, I want it!,'" the 19-year-old Grammy winner told Ellen (via People), explaining later that it took about six weeks to go from dark to light locks. "I thought of it as a dream," she mused. "I didn't think it was going to happen because my hair has been through so much. I thought I would burn it off if I tried. But I did it!" In her blonde reveal back in March, Billie showed fans in a video that she'd secretly been hiding the new color under a wig that matched her previous green and black look. On "Late Night," she confirmed that was how she went about it, admitting that when she last stopped by the show, not only was she wearing a wig — she was wearing a wig she got on Amazon as part of a Billie Eilish Halloween costume. "It was awful, it was the ugliest thing I've ever seen," she said, cracking up. She added that the processing happened in stages — and not all of those stages were pretty. So in the interest of not looking "insane," she went with the wig. Billie also discussed her recent British Vogue cover, which featured the singer in a sexy pinup-girl outfit — a perfect accompaniment to the new platinum 'do. The cover quickly got millions of likes when she shared it with fans. "It makes me not want to post again," she admitted. "I feel like I wanted to post more when less people cared, now that more people care, it's scary to me. But it's amazing." "Happier Than Ever," which Billie described on "Late Night" as "my favorite thing I've ever created," is out July 30.

They grow up so fast! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's kids are nearly all in their teens now and as Angelina recently told E! News, they look after her as much as she looks after them at this point. "I have six very capable children," Angelina said of Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12. "Of course you wake up and you just feel like, 'I've got to make sure they're OK. I've got to make sure they're mentally OK,' but honestly I think a few years ago it switched and they're thinking, 'I've got to make sure mom's OK.'" Angelina, whose new film, "Those Who Wish Me Dead" hits theaters and HBO Max this week, has said she got back in front of the cameras after years of directing in large part because of changes at home. Those changes presumably have to do with the ongoing custody battle she's been locked in with Brad since their 2016 split. The two have yet to work out a permanent arrangement, but Angelina can at least rest assured that her kids are going to be just fine. "They take really good care of me, and we're such a team," she says, "so I am very, very lucky. I worry — I'm always the one that worries — but I adore them. They're cool people." Does that mean she's ready to wade back into the dating pool? Not so much. "I probably have a very long list [of deal-breakers]," she joked when asked about potential love interests. "I've been alone for a long time now."

Taylor Swift became the first female artist to ever win the BRIT Awards' Global Icon Award at the May 11 ceremony, where the singer and songwriter was honored for her "immense impact on music across the world and incredible repertoire and achievements to date," according to ET. In her acceptance speech, Taylor shared advice for fans that she's learned on the road to her latest success, telling them it's the "people who have always believed in you" who deserve your focus — not the ones who try to hold you back. She also shouted-out one extra-special person who's believed in her for the past few years (despite rumors to the contrary), her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. "Thank you Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, Joe," Taylor said, pausing to smile. Addressing fans, the singer said, in part, "There is no career path that comes free of negativity. If you're met with resistance, that probably means that you're doing something new. If you're experiencing turbulence or pressure, that probably means you're rising." She allowed that there could be projects "you put your whole heart and soul into and it is met with cynicism or skepticism," then continued, "You cannot let that crush you. You have to let it fuel you because we live in a world where anyone has the right to say anything about you at any time, but just please remember that you have the right to prove them wrong." Donald Glover suggests everyone's fear 'of getting canceled' is leading to 'boring' movies and TV
Donald Glover innocently whittled his Twitter feed down to three tweets this week — and the rest of Twitter is now losing its collective mind over what he meant. In the wee hours of May 11, the "Atlanta" creator and star posted, "Saw people on here havin a discussion about how tired they were of reviewing boring stuff (tv & film)." In a separate tweet right after that, he posited, "We're getting boring stuff and not even experimental mistakes(?) because people are afraid of getting cancelled." His third tweet read, "So they feel like they can only experiment w/ aesthetic. (also because some of em know theyre not that good)." Almost immediately, Twitter lit up with arguments about whether Donald was slamming "cancel culture — as in the phenomenon where the public ends a person's career, usually over a perceived ethical matter — or simple cancelation, as in a show being canceled and going off the air. Within about 12 hours, the tweets had garnered about 140,000 "likes" and a set of a storm of comments, most of which seemed determined to prove he meant one thing or another. As some other users have noted, Donald could also mean "canceled" in both senses of the word. After all. at the end of the day, a fear of taking risks that could get a show canceled isn't that different from a performer's fear of taking risks in saying what they think.
John Mulaney jokes about addiction, recovery in first stand-up performance since rehab
When comic John Mulaney returned to the stage on May 10 after completing an in-patient treatment program for his alcohol and cocaine addictions, he used the experience as fodder for his act. That's according to Rolling Stone editor David Fear, who tweeted that evening, "So John Mulaney at City Winery was…intense. 90 mins that was mostly processing his intervention and rehab experience." Describing John's set as "remarkably raw, vulnerable, personal," the critic recalled that at one point John "joked," "When I'm alone, I realize I'm with the person who tried to kill me." He concluded that the performance was "hilarious, harrowing, brave, historic." John's residency at City Winery in New York City comes amid news he's filed for divorce from his wife, Anna Marie Tendler, after six years of marriage.
Demi Lovato heads out on a UFO fact-finding mission in new docuseries
After baring her soul in a docuseries about her overdose and road to sobriety, Demi Lovato is returning to the small screen with something a little lighter. Variety reports the singer's set to star in and executive produce a new, four-part documentary about UFOs called "Unidentified with Demi Lovato." Created for NBC's streaming platform Peacock, the show features Demi, along with her sister Dallas and "skeptical best friend Matthew" talking to experts and eyewitnesses as they try to determine, once and for all, the truth behind decades of claims about alien visitors.
Tawny Kitaen revealed she once dated Harvey Weinstein, was working on a book in interview taped shortly before her death
In an interview recorded two weeks before her death on May 7, Tawny Kitaen revealed she dated Harvey Weinstein at one point and was both "blown away" and "frightened" by the sexual assault and rape allegations levied against him in recent years. Speaking to David Yontef on his "The Velvet Rope" podcast, the '80s-era music video star and actress went into detail about dating the former producer, who was later sentenced to more than two decades in prison. She said she had been saving the anecdote for a book she was working on. "There was a guy who was chasing after me. He really wanted to date me and was very persistent," Tawny recalled on the show, which aired this week, according to the Daily Mail. "I dated him for a little while. Nothing ever happened. He was a complete gentleman," she continued, not having yet revealed who the man in question was. Tawny went on to say the two were seeing each other "every night" for dinner until she became ill with pneumonia. "I loved the escargot from Wolfgang Puck's so every night this guy would go to Wolfgang Puck's and pick up my escargot and deliver it to me and sit with me in my room and chat. And it was Harvey Weinstein," she said. "So I didn't experience that other side of him. I never even saw it so imagine my shock when I heard that this was his MO with girls and not having that experience with him. I was completely blown away," Tawny admitted. Adding that she was "disgusted," she explained, "there was a part of me that was like, 'No, not Harvey,' and then the girls kept piling up and up and the numbers kept growing and growing. It frightened me. It scared me but he never put me in that situation." Tawny noted that she and Harvey dated around the time "Miramax had just started," and that she has empathy for his now ex-wife, who left him when the scandal broke. Tawny was 59. A cause of death has not yet been determined.
