Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' quarantine branded wine is selling like hot cakes
Surprise! Even as global markets suffer, the booze biz is thriving, particularly for companies willing to deliver their products to your doorstep — like the "quarantine wine" Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis launched last month to raise money for COVID relief efforts. The couple called in to "The Tonight Show" on Monday, May 4, and told Jimmy Fallon their Oregon Pinot Noir, via Nocking Point, was such a hit, the first batch sold out in just eight hours, raising something in the neighborhood of "a million dollars" for various charities, according to Jezebel. As Ashton and Mila have assured social media users, 100 percent of the wine's proceeds go to the relief organizations, which include America's Food Fund and Direct Relief. And yes, despite that first sold-out batch, Nocking Point still had wine available for purchase as of Wednesday.
Vogue responds to Jessica Simpson's clapback over 'body-shaming' Met Gala piece
Vogue creative director Sally Singer sparked a flood negative comments this week after Jessica Simpson called her out for her "body-shaming" contribution to the outlet's Met Gala oral history, published in honor of the COVID-canceled annual event. In the piece, Singer shared a story that focused on Simpson's chest, which she wrote, "maybe fell out of her dress on the red carpet." Singer continued: "… at dinner it was suddenly like, whoa, Jessica Simpson's breasts are across from me at the dinner table and they are on a platter and I'm looking at them." She added that Simpson's date and then-boyfriend, John Mayer, "was putting his hands on them at the dinner table," then said she'd chalked it up to celebs feeling licensed "to play" at the gala. Simpson responded by sharing a famous pic of Sophia Loren looking at Jayne Mansfield's cleavage on Instagram alongside this caption: "Feeling a little like Jayne Mansfield after reading this (inaccurate!) oral history of the #MetBall where I am body shamed by #SallySinger … 😜." (ET notes Simpson's dress was Cavalli, not Khors.) She continued: "But in all seriousness I have persevered through shaming my own body and internalizing the world's opinions about it for my entire adult life. To read this much anticipated article about the classiest fashion event there is and have to be shamed by another woman for having boobs in 2020 is nauseating." Nearly 70,000 people agreed, according to the post's likes and comments, some of which came from celebs such as January Jones. Vogue later issued an apology, saying the outlet was "sorry that Jessica felt body-shamed by the anecdote in our Met piece. That was never our intent, but we understand her reaction and we apologize for including it."

Are Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik secretly engaged?
Wow, forcing people to stay home sure does seem to stir the celebrity rumor pot. A week after Gigi Hadid's ex Tyler Cameron had to defend his non-paternal innocence to a troll who implied he'd fathered Gigi's baby-to-be, fans have become convinced Gigi and Zayn Malik (said baby's actual future dad) are engaged. The whispers began in the last few days after Gigi and Zayn got matching evil eye bracelets. The jeweler who made the pieces posted Zayn's forearm adorned with one on his Instagram Story. That's where fans picked up on the singer's new tattoo — it's Kahlil Gibran's poem "On Marriage." And it opens with a line about being "together forevermore." As Cosmo reminds us, however, the pair have given no other signs they're even talking about tying the knot. Their daughter is due in September.

Tom Cruise is making a movie in space
Tom Cruise has long prided himself on doing his own stunts for the "Mission: Impossible" films. His next stunt just might top them all, though. NASA has confirmed to CNN its working with the star on a movie for which he will actually be launched into the great unknown. The actor will reportedly stay aboard the International Space Station, which is currently in orbit 250 miles away from Earth. "We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASA's ambitious plans a reality," NASA's Jim Bridenstine tweeted eagerly earlier this week. Tom was actually involved in another film that was shot on the ISS — a 2002 IMAX documentary he narrated. Of course, narrating a story about space and traveling there are two very different things, particularly when it comes to budget. CNN cites a recent NASA document regarding costs associated with non-government visitors to the space lab. According to that document, a space tourist could expect to pay $22,500 a day just for food, air and other essentials.
Kylie Jenner buys an empty lot for $15M in record-setting sale
How much would you pay for 5 acres of mostly flat, entirely empty land? Because $15 million apparently sounded like a fair deal to Kylie Jenner, who's been buying property after property lately. TMZ reports the star's latest purchase was an empty lot — once owned by Miley Cyrus — in the Hidden Hills section of Los Angeles The $15 million price she paid was a "record high for the area," according to the website. Kylie's also recently snagged a second lot in Palm Springs near Kris Jenner's home there and a $36.5 million estate in Holmby Hills estate. Hey, if you've got billionaire status, flaunt it, right?
Jimmy Fallon praises wife Nancy Juvonen: 'She's the brains behind this whole thing'
Jimmy Fallon can't say enough adoring things about his wife, Nancy Juvonen, who has taken over everything from managing the couple's kids' education to (wo)-manning the YouTube cameras and handling producer duties for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: At Home Edition." "My wife is the brains behind this whole thing," the comic and late-night host tells People. "She's the production scout, the producer, the lighting person, the editor, the director. I could not do any of this without my wife. She is everything." It was Nancy whose encouragement led Jimmy to try shooting from their home after NBC announced production would end because of the coronavirus outbreak on March 13, Jimmy recalls. "It was such an odd day," he tells the magazine. "People in the office were freaked out, and we said, 'Look, if anyone is scared, go home. Be with your family.' And we left right after that." The whole thing reminded him of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, he said. "When 9/11 happened, it was such an odd and scary time, and I turned to the late-night guys, Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno and David Letterman," Jimmy, 45, continued. "Letterman had a really great line that the best thing we could do is be courageous, but sometimes even pretending to be courageous was just as good. I always liked that." So he decided to "pretend to be courageous" in his own way, by putting together a new version of the show, complete with copious cameos from his daughters, Winnie, 6, and Franny, 5, that might help take the edge off for viewers in need of entertainment. "Sometimes you've just got to go with your instincts," Jimmy says. "We all need some funny right now."
Ariana Grande teases more new music amid fan talk about 'AG6'
Ariana Grande's clearly getting excited about the debut of her forthcoming single, "Stuck With You," due out this week. The track is a collaboration with Justin Bieber slated to raise money for first responders' kids that the pals have been promoting heavily on social media. But a selfie Ariana shared on the 'Gram on Tuesday suggested that with the duo track in the can, she's already back to work on the new album she's been chipping away at while in isolation during the pandemic. The blue-tinted post, captioned with just a smiley face, showed Ariana before a mic in what's presumably her home studio. As of this week, no release date has been set for "AG6," according to CapitalFM. "Stuck With You" is due out Friday.
Prince Harry ditches his hunting guns in private sale
Jane Goodall recently predicted her friend Prince Harry would soon give up hunting for good, if he hasn't already, because of Duchess Meghan's opposition to the sport. And according to The Sun, he's already taken a big step in that direction. The British tab reports Harry sold his Purdey rifles five months ago, prior to his and Meghan's move stateside. The "prized" guns are estimated to be worth about $60,000, according to The Sun. The weapons are said to have been bought by a hunter who didn't find out until after the private sale that the guns belonged to Harry.
Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini get candid about the emotional toll of filming 'Dead To Me'
Just in time to fill your weekend binge-watching needs, Netflix is unveiling the second season of "Dead To Me" on Friday. And judging from Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini's recent chat with SiriusXM's Jess Cagle, you'll wanna have some tissues on hand. "Some days it is hard. There are emotional places that we go to over and over again that are draining after a day of crying …it gets pretty heavy," Linda said of the toll filming can take (via the Daily Mail). "The good news is that it feels pretty raw and pretty real which makes it, as an actor, very fun." Christina later chimed in to say she felt a similar way, having dug into herself to access those feelings. "I really lived it … It's something that's coming from your own stuff," she explained, recalling one scene in particular. "It was so intense," she admitted. "And we would run around the corner and they would say 'cut' and then she and I would hold each other on the floor and sobbing… and then they'd be like, 'Let's do the line now …'" Without giving away too much about Season 1, we'll just say Linda and Christina's characters continue dealing with the shared fallout from the truth that was revealed about Jen's husband's death early on in the show. But as they continue trying to bury that truth, the FBI continues connecting the dots. And, Jen says in the trailer, "we are the dots."
Baby name woes
Oh noes. Elon Musk and Grimes won't be able to make their baby, X Æ A-12's name legally binding. TMZ checked with the Department of Public Health Vital Records Office in Los Angeles, where the couple's son was reportedly born, and learned California law prevents parents from using numbers or symbols in baby names that appear on birth certificates. Grimes has said the kid's computer model-esque name was inspired by a variety of things close to his parents' hearts, including A-12 spy planes and "metal rats."
