After four days of deliberating, the jury in the Kyle Rittenhouse case found the teen not guilty on all charges. Kyle was charged with killing two people and wounding a third during protests in Wisconsin after the police shooting of Jacob Blake in 2020. Kyle, who was 17 at the time of the shootings, claimed self defense. With the unanimous verdict, the prosecution cannot appeal. Following the verdict, many in the entertainment world publicly reacted with happiness and horror on social media. Megyn Kelly, for example, had this to say on Twitter: "Justice was done. Kyle Rittenhouse was unfairly maligned by a dishonest press, and politicians who used him to advance their own fortunes. If there are riots, these smear merchants will shoulder much of the blame." She later added, "I love these celebs/athletes commenting on Rittenhouse as if they know anything. I guarantee if you asked them to name 2 out of the 3 men shot they couldn't do it. How about the judge's name? WI law on provocation? Yeah right. If u can't answer these, [shut up] about this case."
