Racy past
Before he was on the sidelines of the soccer field, Brett Goldstein was supervising the strip club. The "Ted Lasso" star spoke to GQ Hype about managing his father's gentlemen's club in Spain. "Look, my dad had a midlife crisis and bought the strip club," Brett said, adding that his mother asked him to go to Marbella, Spain, to keep an eye on his dad. During that time, he claims to have seen "the best and worst of humanity. Ironically, rather than being there as a watchful eye for his mom, Brett ended up managing the club for a year. "It was high drama and the underworld and darkness and love. It was never boring," he said. The actor also marveled at the personality changes that occur in that environment, saying one man would come to the club inebriated every week. "And then I saw him in the street in the daytime with his wife and kids. And I swear he had no idea who I was. I don't think he was being clever. I didn't say hello, but I looked at him and he… there was nothing, no recognition," Brett said. "And I truly believe there's a world where he doesn't even remember he came [to the club] at all."
Lyric change
Kelsea Ballerini has something to say. While performing on "Saturday Night Live" on March 4, she changed the lyrics to her song "Blindsided" to seemingly take a shot at ex-husband Morgan Evans. After the final chorus of the song, the country superstar looked directly at the camera and sang, "Now you're singing out loud on the radio/You couldn't say it to my face/You would've searched the whole world over/Yeah. Sure. Okay." Then on March 6, she added a "Yeah. Sure. Okay." T-shirt to her tour merch. Those lyrics are not part of the already-released song.
The former couple has traded barbs for months. In October 2022, just two months after Kelsea filed for divorce, Morgan recorded a breakup song called "Over for You" and said he was "blindsided" by the divorce. Kelsea later said she was "so angry" after hearing the song. As all this played out, a report alleged that the "Heart First" singer cheated on Morgan with Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers in 2019. She is now dating "Outer Banks" actor Chase Stokes.
Car crash
Pete Davidson and girlfriend Chase Sui-Wonders were miraculously unharmed after crashing their car into a fire hydrant — and setting off a huge water spectacle — and an adjacent home in Beverly Hills, Calif., over the weekend. TMZ published video after the crash which showed firefighters desperately trying to get the ruptured hydrant under control. On Saturday, March 4, the former "SNL" funnyman was driving around 11 p,m. at a high rate of speed when he reportedly lost control of the car. Pete ended up hopping a curb. The car then drove through a fire hydrant and slammed into a home. It's not believed that drugs or alcohol were at play.
Slap happy
One year after slapping Chris Rock on the Oscars stage, Will Smith is trying to make amends. Chris, however, isn't having it. "He's tried unsuccessfully to make amends in the best way he could with Chris," a source told People magazine. "But beyond that, family is important to him and [Will] leaned on them." Will is "better but still remorseful," the source said. The Oscar-winning actor reportedly feels he's matured since that fateful day. People's report comes just days after Chris addressed the situation in his live Netflix comedy special, "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage." "Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face," he said after claiming Will, his former friend, has "selective outrage." Chris also proclaimed that he's "not a victim." "You'll never see me on Oprah or Gayle, crying. You will never see it. Never gonna happen," he said.
Dementia PSA
Bruce Willis's wife, Emma Heming, is asking for advice from those who've cared for dementia sufferers. "To other caregivers or dementia care specialist navigating this world…. Any tips or advice on how to get your loved ones out in the world safely?" she captioned an Instagram video. Last year, the "Die Hard" actor's family announced that he was retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia. Then, just last month, his family said the illness had progressed to frontotemporal dementia. "If you are someone who is looking after someone who has dementia, you know how difficult and how stressful it can be, just to get them out into the world and navigate them safely – even just to get a cup of coffee," she said. "In the spirit of raising awareness for dementia, it's clear that a lot of education needs to be put forth." She also pleaded with paparazzi to give Bruce his "space" if they see him out and about. "Allow for our family or whoever is with him that day to get him from point A to point B safely," she said.
An explanation…
Hoda Kotb is shedding light on the mysterious "family health matter" that kept her away from "Today" for two weeks. "My youngest [daughter], Hope, was in the ICU for a few days and in the hospital for more than a week," Hoda explained on Monday, March 6, when she returned to the morning show. "I'm so grateful she's home. We are watching her closely. I am just so happy." Hoda, 58, expressed her gratitude for all nurses and friends who checked in with her during the two-week hiatus. With her voice cracking, she told co-host Savannah Guthrie, "I'm grateful to my family and to friends like you who were there every single day." Hoda made headlines with her sudden hiatus. After fans became concerned that they'd heard little-to-no explanation for her absence, Craig Melvin told concerned viewers on March 1, "We know a lot of you have been wondering how she's doing. We can tell you that Hoda is OK, [but] she's got a family health matter that she's been dealing with."
