We love awards shows for the amazing fashion, but we're also obsessed with how stars style their hair and makeup. Over the years, we've seen celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow look rather drab, while Drew Barrymore made retro hairstyles look completely fab. Ahead of the 2021 Golden Globes, which air on Feb. 28, Wonderwall.com is rounding up some of the most buzzed-about beauty looks from previous years. First up? Gwyneth Paltrow in 1999. That year, the actress won a Golden Globe for her work in "Shakespeare in Love," but her long locks and simple makeup left a lot to be desired. "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker always has fun when it comes to fashion and hairstyles — much like the show's Carrie Bradshaw. But on the evening that she took home a Globe for her performance on her hit HBO show in 2001, her hair was a major faux pas. Not only was the color too blonde for her complexion, but it also looked harsh next to her dark eyebrows. Plus, simply pulling her locks into a ponytail seemed like the easy way out for such a glamorous night. Also underwhelming? That pink shade on her lip. SJP, you should know better!

At the 2001 Golden Globes, Beyonce was just on the cusp of her huge career — all at the tender age of 20. And she looked it! We love that she kept things youthful by letting her curls down and matching her lip color to her bright dress.

In fact, it was so breezy that all she did was pin back the left side of her hair with a glitzy clip. And though it was understated, it was a winner!

Part of Scarlett Johansson's charm is that she can easily transform her look into something retro.
