The insulter-in-chief kicked off the show going after Felicity Huffman, joking that she made the license plate for the limousine he arrived in. He called "The Irishman" star Joe Pesci "Baby Yoda" and made fun of director Martin Scorsese's small stature. He called the room full of Hollywood A-listers "perverts." A Brad and Jen reunion?

It was the big will-they-or-won't-they question of the night: Will Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston reunite at the Golden Globes almost 15 years to the day that they announced their split after four years of marriage?! When Kevin Frazier from "Entertainment Tonight" told Brad that the whole world wants a picture of him and Jen together at the Globes, Brad said that of course he and his first ex-wife would see one another. "I'll run into Jen, she's a good friend. Yeah," he said. The pair were last at the Globes together in 2002 (left) when they were still married. According to Us Weekly, the exes weren't anywhere near each other on the 2020 Globes red carpet, though according to a screen grab from a shot of the NBC Globes telecast that revealed the inside the ballroom at the Beverly Hilton hotel, Brad and Jen were only a few feet away from one another during the show: They were seated at adjacent tables (see the pic on DailyMail.com). Brad, a nominee for his performance in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," sat with his co-stars while Jen, a nominee for her work on "The Morning Show," was seated with her show's cast.

Col. Brosnan?

Pierce Brosnan is looking extra crispy, according to social media. If Twitter has anything to say about it, the former James Bond actor will be shilling for KFC soon. How did this start? Well, social media seems to think that Pierce shares a strong resemblance to Colonel Sanders thanks to his facial hair. "Is it me or is Pierce Brosnan the hot version of the KFC guy?" one person tweeted. Another added, "If a movie about Col. Sanders doesn't come out starring @PierceBrosnan this summer, I'll be greatly disappointed. Great 'stache sir." Added another: "He makes me want KFC." Grab a spork, Pierce!

Brad Pitt delivers laughs after winning second Golden Globe of his career

Brad Pitt won his first Golden Globe in more than 20 years on Jan. 5. The "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" star — who previously won a Globe for his work in "Twelve Monkeys" way back in 1996 — took to the stage and profusely thanked his writer-director, Quentin Tarantino, and co-stars for their role in his best supporting actor win. He got a huge laugh from the crowd while lauding Leonardo DiCaprio, whom he affectionately calls "LDC." "I would have shared the raft," he quipped, referring to how Leo's character in "Titanic" died. Brad also thanked his parents and said he wanted to bring his mom to the show but decided it would have been "awkward" because "anyone I stand next to they say I'm dating." Coincidentally, the camera cut to show Brad's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston listening and smiling in the audience. Brad ended his speech by saying, "If you have a chance to be kind to someone tomorrow, take it. We all need it."

Reunited and it feels so good

Avengers assemble! Chris Evans, who for years played Captain America opposite Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, teamed up with his old co-star once again at the 2020 Golden Globes. "The Avengers" franchise fans loved seeing the old co-stars walk out arm in arm to present the award for best actor in a movie musical or comedy (which went to Taron Egerton for his performance in "Rocketman").

Why these nominees are missing in action — plus Russell Crowe's big message from afar

Two of the evening's big nominees were MIA at the 2020 Golden Globes, but they both had a good reason for being no-shows. Christian Bale, who's up for best actor in a movie drama for his work in "Ford v Ferrari," is skipping the show because he's sick. Variety reported that he was out of the country for the holidays when he fell ill with a bad case of the flu and was advised not to fly for medical reasons. (Octavia Spencer also missed the show due to the flu, she told fans on Instagram.) Russell Crowe, who was nominated for best actor in a limited series or TV movie for his performance as Roger Ailes in "The Loudest Voice," stayed in Australia, where he lives. At the top of the show, Russell won a Globe. Jennifer Aniston, who was presenting his category, explained to the audience that he "could not be here with us tonight because he is at home in Australia protecting his family from the devastating bushfires." She then read a statement he'd sent in case he won: "Make no mistake the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change-based. We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is — that way we all have a future. Thank you."

Red carpet debut!

A secret no longer! Bill Hader and Rachel Bilson have been romantically linked for several weeks now after they were spotted holding hands in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, over the holidays. The couple confirmed the romance on Sunday, walking the red carpet at the Golden Globes together in what was clearly meant to be their official debut as a couple. They co-starred in the 2013 rom-com "The To Do List" — which was directed by Bill's now-ex-wife — so they've known each other for years.

Awkwafina makes history

Awkwafina made history when she took home a Golden Globe for her performance in "The Farewell" on Jan. 5. Variety reported that who two other stars of East Asian heritage won supporting actor and actress trophies for movies at the Globes back in the '80s, Awkwafina is the first East Asian performer to ever win a lead acting award for performance in a movie at the Globes.

Bleep bleep bleeeeeeeeeeep!

Thank goodness for that live TV delay! Joaquin Phoenix had to be bleeped several times while accepting his award for best actor in a drama at the end of the night. The "Joker" star seemed to say, in very flowery terms, that the term "best actor" is nonsense. The censor button was used several more times during his speech too. On another note, Twitter was abuzz with the way he acknowledged his fiancée, Rooney Mara, during his speech when he got incredibly emotional after simply saying her first name.

Where did Ricky go?

Where have you gone, Ricky Gervais? That's the question Twitter was asking late into the show. The comedian was the host of the Globes but he didn't seem to have a lot of screen time after the top of the show. A common sentiment across social media had fans wondering if Ricky got himself banned after his cutting monologue. "Where's Ricky Gervais? I thought he was hosting this," one person tweeted. "Where's Ricky? I guess he was just hired to do the opening?" another asked. "Have they booted him out already??" yet another wanted to know. At the end of the show, Ricky finally came out again. "Kill me," he said, referring to the length of the telecast as it had run over. Moments later, Ricky returned to sign off. "That's it. Good night," he said, adding, "Get drunk, take your drugs…"

A special first for Elton John and songwriting partner Bernie Taupin

There's a first for everything. Elton John and Bernie Taupin have been friends and collaborators for nearly 50 years, but they have never won an award together — until Sunday night at the Golden Globes when they took home the prize for best original song for "I'm Gonna Love Me Again" from the Elton biopic "Rocketman." Elton, despite having an overflowing trophy case, seemed downright giddy about the win. "We never won a Grammy [together]," Elton said as he and Bernie stood on stage. "We never did anything together except for this, and I'm so happy."

Tipsy, unprepared and utterly charming

"The Crown" star Olivia Colman didn't foresee herself winning the award for best actress in a drama series at the Golden Globes, so she got the party started early. However, she did win and had to go on stage and give an alcohol-fueled speech. Was she embarrassed? Not in the slightest. "I already got a little boozy because I didn't think this was going to happen," she confessed as the crowd laughed. "I'm completely stumped." She then looked at the cast of "Fleabag," on which she also appeared. "And 'Fleabag,' yaaaaaaay," she added, referring to the show's big wins. Twitter loved the speech and most people decided they wanted to be friends with Olivia. Don't we all.

Another big awards night for "Fleabag"

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is starting off 2020 like she ended 2019 — with some massive wins (just like at the Emmys). First, the "Fleabag" star took home the award for best performance by an actress in a TV comedy series. "Fleabag" later won the award for best TV comedy series. Since Phoebe wrote and produced the show too, she collected that statue too. "Personally, I'd like to thank [President] Obama for pushing us on his list," she said, referring to the former POTUS' list of his favorite shows of the year during her second speech. Then, harkening back to a brilliant and very NSFW joke from the very first episode of season 1 of "Fleabag," Phoebe quipped, "Some of you may know, he's always been on mine."

Their big debut, her big win

Michelle Williams, who was nominated for a Golden Globe this year for her work in "Fosse/Verdon," and new love Thomas Kail, who directed the show, made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Globes on Jan. 5. Less than a week earlier, People magazine broke the news that the actress and the Tony Award-winning "Hamilton" director were not only dating but engaged and expecting their first child together. Later in the evening, Michelle made headlines again when she won a Globe and, while accepting the trophy for best actress in a limited series or TV movie, delivered an impassioned speech about voting for candidates who protect a women's right to choose: "Women, 18 to 118, when it is time to vote, please do so in your own self-interest. It's what men have been doing for years."

It's a family affair for this year's Golden Globe ambassadors

Those two good looking Golden Globes ambassadors? They come from a fierce acting bloodline. Dylan Brosnan, 22, and Paris Brosnan, 18, are the sons of Pierce Brosnan. The Irish actor's boys are no strangers to the spotlight, however, as both are models who've worked with some of the biggest fashion houses in the world. Before the Globes, Dylan spoke to People magazine about working with his younger brother, explaining that since the event "comes with an amount of pressure … it's great to be there together." Before their live shot with E!'s Ryan Seacrest during the network's red carpet pre-show, Pierce gave his boys some red carpet advice: "Shoulders back, lick your lips," Ryan revealed. Their mom, Keely Shaye Smith, told Ryan what advice she gave her sons: "Just enjoy it. It goes by so fast — it's almost like a wedding."

Ellen DeGeneres gets emotional as she accepts second ever Carol Burnett Award

Ellen DeGeneres got noticeably emotional while Kate McKinnon introduced her as winner of the Carol Burnett Award for excellence in television — the first time the prize has been bestowed on anyone other than its namesake. After taking the stage to officially receive the honor, Ellen mixed emotion with laughter, speaking about her eponymous talk show. "I was able to be myself and it was 17 years ago. I feel like you've all really gotten to know me," she said. She then made up a faux husband, all while her real-life wife, Portia de Rossi, watched and smiled. "I couldn't have done it without my husband Mark," she joked. "Mark, you are my rock." The comedian went on to gush about Carol, indicating that the TV legend always made her feel good. Tom Hanks tried and tried to keep it together while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award, but his emotions got the best of him. Naturally, he blamed it on being sick. "I have a cold the size of Merv Griffin's 'Jeopardy!' royalties," he quipped. Earlier in his speech, the actor started losing it and had to step away from the microphone while looking at his family, who was seated up front. "A man is blessed with a family sitting down in front like that," he said. "I can't tell you how much your love means to me." Tom later collected himself to relive many highlights of his career, even saying, "You're a dope if you don't steal [from] everyone you've ever worked with." Toward the end of his speech, he got emotional again. "It's the cold that's making this happen," he said. "I swear to God I'm not this emotional at home."

Rita Wilson was left hanging by a late groomer on Tom Hanks' big night

Rita Wilson had some very tense moments (and, well, a first-world problem) ahead of the Golden Globes. The actress booked a hair and makeup person to get her all glammed up for the show — her husband, Tom Hanks, is being honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award and is also a nominee for best supporting actor for his performance in "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" — but the mystery groomer was more than 90 minutes late! "Trying to be zen," the actress tweeted. "Booked this person in September. Hair and makeup still not here," she wrote at 1:56 p.m., noting on Instagram that she was left with only an hour to actually get her hair and makeup done at that point. So what happened? Rita made the red carpet at the very end — and she looked great!

Billy Porter's presto, change-o look

Billy Porter, who's up for best actor in a TV drama for his performance on "Pose," had everyone talking about his award fashion yet again when he hit the red carpet at the Golden Globes in a major white suit by designer Alex Vinash that featured a lonnnng feathered train, Jimmy Choo heels and Tiffany & Co. jewelry including a diamond drop choker. "The feathers are fragile," Billy told E! red carpet pre-show host Ryan Seacrest of his incredible ensemble, which he teased that he'll change up once the show begins. "This [feathered train] actually zips off. This is for the red carpet then I zip this off to be comfortable because it is a dinner."

Stop, thief!

Hey, you stole my line! While introducing the award for best supporting actor in a series, Matt Bomer was praising all of them. Just then, Sofia Vergara started reading the teleprompter, telling Matt that it was her line. She quickly realized it wasn't. Matt continued. At the end of the segment, Sofia made a facial expression to indicate she messed up. Whoops!

Out of the mouths of babes

The most shocking comment on the Golden Globes red carpet might have come from the mouth of a 12-year-old kid. While speaking to Giuliana Rancic during E!'s red carpet pre-show about his favorite part of filming "Jojo Rabbit," for which he's nominated, Roman Griffin Davis — the evening's youngest nominee — said, "Kicking Hitler in the balls out the window." Let's be honest, that was the moment that the Globes red carpet really began.

Awkward comment

While Jennifer Lopez got the Golden Globe nomination (for her performance in "Hustlers"), it's her fiancé, retired MLB star Alex Rodriguez, who feels like the real winner. J.Lo's role as a stripper was very physical — she even trained with Cirque Du Soleil. "The one great benefit is having a pole in your master bedroom for six months," the baseball legend quipped to Ryan Seacrest on the E! red carpet. "She prepped really, really hard." J.Lo cringed a bit but quickly added, "I worked hard." Thanks, A-Rod!

Red gowns were one of the fashion trends on the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet. Cynthia Erivo — a best actress nominee for her performance in "Harriet" — looked like a million bucks on the Golden Globes red carpet… 3 million dollars, to be exact! The British star wore $3 million worth of Bulgari diamonds around her neck. Oh yeah, and her dress, a black-and-white Thom Browne gown, took 800 hours and 33 days to make! Fashion stylist Jason Bolden posted a photo of Cynthia on Instagram on Globes night with the caption, "The New Hollywood!!
