The Golden Globes are back, baby! And to celebrate their return for the 80th year on Jan. 10, 2023, Wonderwall.com rounded up the best and worst dressed stars on Hollywood's most fun night! First up?
No surprise here! Salma Hayek turned up in Gucci, but we weren't fans of her selection. The gown included black straps that looked stark against the otherwise tan and silver design. Plus it was another semi-sheer look that we were hoping wouldn't appear on another red carpet.

Lily James has worn a lot of Atelier Versace lately, so it's no surprise that she tapped the fashion house for her Globes night look. Her gorgeous red gown included a strapless bodice complete with cutouts and a structured ballgown skirt. And while we wondered how she would manage to take a seat later, we still marveled at every angle of this structural masterpiece…

When it came time to add some sparkle, Lily James tapped Harry Winston for her jewelry, donning these pretty diamond drop earrings and a matching necklace.

We weren't fans of Jenna Ortega's brown Gucci pick. The young star's haphazard dress included cutouts, draping, asymmetrical hemlines, billowy sleeves and a dramatic train — it was trying to accomplish too many things at once. Despite not adoring the dress, we did love the "Wednesday" beauty's accessories.

Yikes! Heidi Klum often rocks some outlandish looks on the red carpet, but this one might take the cake. The model arrived in this insane Kevin Germanier minidress that included a purple feathered stripe atop an otherwise silver sequined and sheer design. Silver strappy heels and a silver clutch completed this costume-like look.

Kaley Cuoco's lovely lilac Vera Wang number made for a stellar maternity fashion moment. Her frock included an empire waist and a flowy skirt that delicately trailed behind her. But our favorite part of this look isn't done justice from this angle, so let's take a closer look…

Though we appreciated the vibrant shade, we weren't wild about Jenny Slate's bright green Rodarte dress. The halter-style frock included an oversized floral embellishment at the neckline that gave the gown a more campy vibe… and her messy updo certainly didn't help matters.

We always welcome a dash of bubblegum pink, so Julia Garner's frothy Gucci pick was widely welcomed. We adored every inch of this pick — from the jeweled straps to the ruffled tiers. She added even more sparkle with De Beers jewelry.

Though we adore "Abbott Elementary," star Quinta Brunson's Golden Globes gown left a lot to be desired. The strapless black Christian Siriano dress included dashes of hot pink, a mermaid-style silhouette and tufts of tulle, but we wish it came in a more vibrant shade and didn't go with the two-tone effect.

We thought we might finally have an event without seeing any sheer illusion gowns, but then Jessica Chastain arrived in this Oscar de la Renta pick. While we loved the unique neckline and the shimmery details, we couldn't get behind this otherwise overdone aesthetic.

Selena Gomez rocked Valentino on Globes night and we adored the uniting of dark purple and black. The surprising color combination paired with the voluminous sleeves and unique neckline made this one a standout amidst a sea of pretty dresses.

Viola Davis brought a unique color to the carpet on Globes night with this stunning blue Jason Wu design. Aside from the bold shade, we loved the unique details like the sleeveless and short-sleeved bodice and the dramatic draping.

Rip at the Golden Globes?! "Yellowstone" star Cole Hauser looked pretty different from his on-screen cowboy persona, but we loved seeing the star all dressed up for the glamorous occasion in this all-black tux and dress shirt combo minus a tie.

Making up for that Gucci goof? Michelle Williams's gorgeous gown by the same designer. The star's one-shouldered cream pick featured plenty of pleating plus lots of ruffles along the neckline and down the skirt in an asymmetrical design. Matching metallic sandals rounded out this standout look.

You can never go wrong with a classic! Austin Butler looked sharp in this elegant tuxedo and bow tie combo.

Elizabeth Debicki provided another splash of pink in this column-style Dior gown. We appreciated the simplicity of the silhouette, with the refined tie detail below the bust, and her gorgeous necklace was the perfect complement to this understated, subtly glamorous look.

Rhea Seehorn wowed in this stunning floral Naeem Khan design. We loved the pops of color via the pink, purple and red flowers, the long-sleeved, floor-length silhouette, and the way she brought out the green of the leaves with the addition of that clutch.

The burnt orange and ivory color combo stood out, but overall we didn't adore Letitia Wright's Prada pick. The sleeveless frock with a knee-high slit felt underwhelming for such a bold color choice, though we did appreciate the added orange infusion via those strappy sandals.

The lady of the evening, Jennifer Coolidge, turned up in this shimmery black Dolce & Gabbana design. It included an off-the-shoulder detail paired with thin straps and long sleeves plus an all-over sparkle that felt worthy of the "White Lotus" superstar.

Pregnant Claire Danes opted for this Giambattista Valli creation. And while we loved some elements — that sweet bow at the neckline and the embellished straps — overall that bold all-over print and the fringe hemline lost us.

Niecy Nash brought a dash of regal purple to the red carpet in this statement gown from Dolce & Gabbana. Her spaghetti-strap dress included a smattering of sequins and was topped with a dreamy top layer that trailed behind her, helping the star make an elegant entrance on one of Hollywood's biggest nights.

Sadly, Ana De Armas's custom Louis Vuitton dress landed her on the miss list. The black-and-white gown felt underwhelming for such a big night, and the oddly placed stripe of print against an otherwise stark black ballgown silhouette, though unique, was a strange choice.

Abby Elliot showed off some killer maternity style in this gorgeous burnt orange Pamella Roland design. We loved the blouson sleeves that gave way to a fitted cuff, the all-over shimmer and the frock's high neck, plus how she added another pop of orange via a clutch was a smart move.

Andrew Garfield stood out amongst a sea of black tuxes in this bold orange Zegna selection. We appreciated the color pop, and the way he paired it with sleek black additions like that dress shirt, long tie and dress shoes.

We either adore Daisy Edgar-Jones's red carpet looks or feel like they totally miss the mark, and unfortunately on Globes night, it was the latter. We weren't feeling the split of this black gown — which started out with a lingerie-like bodice before giving way to a tiered tulle skirt mid-thigh.

Michelle Yeoh can always be counted upon for a high-fashion infusion, so this unique navy blue Armani Privé gown she wore to the Globes was just what the red carpet needed. We loved the strapless silhouette and the unique peplum detail over a column-style skirt. The subtle shimmery embellishments complementing her diamonds from Moussaieff Jewellers cemented this look as a hit.

Our first disappointing gloves sighting? That came from Britt Lower, who paired her ballgown with a pair of unnecessary Bach Mai leather gloves. Even if the star hadn't added the unfortunate accessory, that black-and-pink color combo and sleek silhouette that ballooned into a full skirt would have likely had her on the miss list anyway.

Natasha Lyonne kept things cool in Givenchy. We loved the structured shoulders of this glam black gown and actually didn't mind the addition of gloves in this instance.

Speaking of gloves… Though we loved Ayo Edebiri in "The Bear," we can't get behind her Globes getup. Her pretty pale blue coordinates were amazing on their own, but the addition of those gold gloves really lost us. Despite that odd accessory, she did rock some beautiful earrings…

Monica Barbaro ushered in some old school Hollywood glam in this dreamy Dolce & Gabbana confection. We loved the sweetheart neckline, subtle belt detail and the skirt filled with frothy layers of tulle.

We loved Eddie Redmayne's color selection — that rich chocolate brown was a nice departure from the standard black — but the oversized floral detail on the lapel combined with the ill-fitting trousers turned this look into a miss in our book.

Jamie Lee Curtis looked regal on the red carpet, selecting this all-black pairing that included a glamorous black lace cape detail. We loved the simplicity of the gown's silhouette paired with the top layer that made this ensemble Globes-worthy.

Ana Gasteyer brought a refreshing splash of blue to Golden Globes night. Her pretty off-the-shoulder number included shades of turquoise, navy and cobalt that all flowed together.

Looking sharp! Matt Bomer represented for the gentlemen on Globes night, turning up in this glamorous tuxedo paired with a black bow tie.

Rachel Lindsay opted for a classic silhouette with a twist — a strapless black ballgown by Tarik Ediz that included a surprising thigh-high slit. Though it wasn't particularly exciting, we did appreciate the old school glam this dress brought with it… and that beautiful diamond necklace she added for some sparkle.

Laverne Cox brought some beautiful blue to the Globes via this vintage John Galliano dress. Her sleeveless pick included some shimmery silver embellishments and a slinky silhouette that culminated in a tiny train.

A midi-length dress does not fit the Golden Globes vibe! Sorry, Zanna Roberts Rassi, but this ivory-and-black Alexander McQueen design felt a smidge too casual for such an important night. The pointy-toe pumps and edgy halter-style neckline almost elevated it enough, but it ended up being a miss.

Zuri Hall brought winter white to the red carpet. We liked the host's slinky halter-style gown and the way she paired it with even more white with those killer pointy-toe pumps.
