The Billboard Music Awards always brings out some of the biggest names in music, and 2021's event on May 23 was no exception! Now that the awards have been handed out, it's time to judge the funky fashion. First up? Alicia Keys' three-piece Valentino outfit. Though it was certainly eye-catching, we're not quite sure the combination was fashionable. The star arrived in this bold monochromatic pink ensemble comprised of a crop top, high-waisted trousers and a dramatic coat complete with a train — altogether a strange dressy-casual couture hybrid. From a diamond tennis bracelet to lots of layered rings, Gabrielle Union added some extra sparkle to her Billboard Music Awards look with Bulgari jewels.
Though Machine Gun Kelly looked cool on his own in this sleek suit with an unbuttoned shirt underneath, it was girlfriend Megan Fox who stole the spotlight. The actress arrived in this slinky and strategically placed Mugler number, which included a halter neckline, dangerous cut-outs and an entirely sheer skirt.
Almost but not quite! Priyanka Chopra arrived in this semi-sheer Dolce&Gabbana design. It started out strong with those beautiful embellishments down the neckline but lost us with that dramatic golden belt detail and nearly hip-high slit. Looking sharp, Drake! The rapper took home Billboard's artist of the decade award while sporting this sleek pale gray suit with a white dress shirt, black studded tie and black boots, which paired perfectly with the best accessory of all — that megawatt smile!
We're starry eyed over Kelsea Ballerini's adorable black minidress by Nedret Taciroglu. Half long-sleeved and half sleeveless, the short frock featured a sheer midriff plus sweet sparkly star, moon and heart embellishments. She completed her look with equally chic pointy-toe pumps.

A high-low hemline rarely scores a fashion hit, and Saweetie's was, unfortunately, no exception. The music star arrived in this bold Giambattista Valli ballgown in a killer peach hue, but the ruffled distracting hemline that also showed a peek of bright orange tulle underneath just lost us. Despite not loving the silhouette, we did love the pink floral embellishments down the bodice, which matched perfectly with her nails…

Though we liked the bold black-and-white stripes, we weren't fans of the tiny crop top with dramatic sleeves paired with high-waisted flared pants. And though from afar it looked like a necklace, a closer look shows that the star wasn't wearing one — that's just a part of the top! Let's check it out…
Once we got a closer look, we realized Doja Cat's Balmain crop top was actually halter-style, with a large turquoise design attaching the top and circular neck detail. From there she added equally bold earrings from D'heygere, which included live plants that you have to see to believe…

The Weeknd certainly cleaned up nicely! The star arrived in a sleek long Bottega Veneta jacket which he paired with a shirt, tie, trousers and dress shoes for a very polished look.
What's going on here, Kehlani? The singer's Tony Ward getup included a jeweled bralette, a cropped jacket with dramatic puffy sleeves and a skirt that was subtly sheer down the sides — a puzzling fashion miss. Next, let's take a look at her accessories…
Despite not liking her outfit, Kehlani's cool diamond serpent necklace was one part of the ensemble we could definitely get behind!
Lady in red! H.E.R. arrived in this phenomenal Christian Dior jumpsuit that featured red and black sequins and paired perfectly with her black peep-toe pumps, shades and red lip.
Kathryn Hahn served up a snoozy black carpet look. The "WandaVision" star arrived in this simple black-and-white off-the-shoulder top with black trousers, both by Thom Browne, and added tights and pointy-toe loafers. Though the items paired well, it was a forgettable look amongst the wilder fashion of the night.
Chelsea Handler looked lovely in pale yellow, opting for this pretty one-shouldered midi-length frock with a white border along the neckline. She wisely added matching yellow pointy-toe pumps to finish off her pastel-hued ensemble.
Where does the dress end and the boots begin? We're still not entirely sure, but we do know that Naz Perez's strange all-red Billboard Music Awards look did not land on the hit list.
Tina Knowles-Lawson looked fab in this embellished suit. Her black pantsuit included sparkles and a feathered and jeweled belt detail. Our only complaint? She inexplicably paired it with dark gray heels.
Yikes! One of our favorite country artists, Gabby Barrett, arrived in this puzzling design — a golden gown by Nicolas Jebran that included both a one-shouldered silhouette that flowed into an over-the-top train in the back and a front that included an asymmetrical hemline with a slit. Despite hating the dress, we did love those two-toned Stuart Weitzman sandals!
Nick Jonas committed to green ahead of his hosting duties at this year's Billboard Music Awards. The musician rocked an emerald green jacket and trouser combo with a lighter green dress shirt from Fendi for the occasion and added a black T-shirt and boots to the mix for a cool and unexpected look on the red carpet.
Another star serving up shades of green? Lena Waithe, who rocked a pretty mint green suit by Richfresh. She added an emerald green dress shirt underneath and cream loafers to her spring-ready red carpet look.
Lil Rel Howery pulled off this mismatched look, but that doesn't make it a hit! The actor's brown jacket, black T-shirt topped with a gold chain, plaid pants and brown and gray boots were a strange combination.
DJ in DG! DJ Khaled arrived in this cool and casual Dolce&Gabbana getup comprised of a polka dot collared shirt with yellow, green and orange embellishments plus black pants and yellow sneakers with green laces.
Rocsi Diaz's sleek black leather dress started out strong. We loved the unique neckline and the ruching, but the addition of those arm bands turned this couture look costume-y.
Padma Lakshmi sported this sleek white Christian Siriano pantsuit with all-over sparkly embellishments. We loved the crisp look that was both polished and fun, and the way she rocked it sans shirt, adding delicate jewels instead. Let's check them out…
Who needs a shirt when you have Jacquie Aiche jewels? Padma Lakshmi sported a delicate diamond necklace by the jewelry designer in lieu of a dress shirt underneath her Christian Siriano suit.
E!'s Tanya Rad embraced a mermaid sparkle vibe at the Billboard Music Awards. The host donned this short Nicole + Felicia dress, which was fine on its own but didn't pair well with those equally busy electric blue sandals.
E!'s Justin Sylvester understood the assignment! We loved his bold floral pantsuit, which he paired with an unbuttoned white dress shirt and brown boots for a killer menswear moment.
