When it came down to fashion, there was a whole lot of everything at the 2017 Emmys! TV's hottest stars had us spinning in different directions with a mix of styles — from bold jewel tones to eye-popping brights, plush velvets to sparkly sequins, and more rainbow than we'd ever like to see again. Wonderwall.com has you covered with a roundup of the very best and very worst style from the 2017 Emmy Awards, starting with Reese Witherspoon. The "Big Little Lies" star took a risk with a shiny sapphire Stella McCartney tuxedo dress. We think her power suit ended up being a power move.

Reese Witherspoon's "Big Little Lies" co-star Nicole Kidman also opted for a bold color at the 2017 Emmys — a bright red Calvin Klein By Appointment halter dress. The flowy, ankle-length style gave her a flirty yet elegant edge.

The glimmering rope-like neckline on Nicole Kidman's otherwise classic Calvin Klein By Appointment dress really set it apart from the rest. We especially love how it's tied in a knot at the center. But there was one element of her look that left us scratching our heads. Keep reading to see it…

Nicole Kidman's shoes had us doing a double take, but they actually turned out not to be a mistake. Her strappy pink Calvin Klein sandals were actually meant to look mismatched, with the bottom strap bejeweled on the right and the top strap bejeweled on the left. Though the design was indeed purposeful, we still don't like it.
Claire Foy also slayed the 2017 Emmys with a neckline knot, similar to the design on Nicole Kidman's Calvin Klein dress. "The Crown" star looked beyond fierce in a black Oscar de la Renta jumpsuit with a one-shoulder cape and glittering tied-knot accent.
Claire Foy gave her powerful jumpsuit look another added punch with a bold red lip. It was smart to leave the rest of her hair and makeup simple so that it would stand out.
Jessica Biel gave us total figure skater vibes with a partially nude, partially silver-sequined Ralph & Russo Couture gown for the 2017 Emmys. We're not quite sure if the flowy, sheer draped number was the best choice for an awards show, or if it would've been better suited for the ice rink. And, don't get us started on her hair…
Jessica Biel's half-up 'do really reached new heights! But her big hairstyle didn't make sense with such a delicate Ralph & Russo dress. Her dangling diamond drop earrings, on the other hand, were more on par.
Kiernan Shipka is only 17 and her whimsical Miu Miu dress was the perfect, age-appropriate choice for the 2017 Emmys. Keep reading to get a better look at the subtle rainbow sparkle detail on her nude tulle gown.
The straps and waistline on Kiernan Shipka's light and airy Miu Miu gown were detailed with pastel rainbow-colored jewels, which very subtly cascaded down the dress. Dreamy!
Elisabeth Moss chose a retro-inspired Prabal Gurung frock for the 2017 Emmys. Though we adore the A-line design and light pink hue, the color scheme washed out the "The Handmaid's Tale" star's complexion.
Julianne Hough made the right choice for the 2017 Emmys by sticking to a designer she's used to working with. The professional dancer wore a stunning black gown by Marchesa, which also recently designed her wedding dress. Cascading pink floral accents gave the look such a feminine touch.
Julianne Hough kept her hair pulled back and makeup soft and subtle so as to not take away from the unique flower design on her Marchesa dress. Notice the feathery texture?
Julianne Hough gave her girly look a bit of edge with a brass knuckles-inspired ring style. She wore a different thin diamond band on every finger!
Emmy Rossum was the definition of simple glam at the 2017 Emmys! The "Shameless" actress donned a strapless black Zac Posen gown embellished with a subtle all-over glimmer. She brought the whole look together with Old Hollywood hair and emerald jewels.
Emmy Rossum's emerald earrings were truly breathtaking and served as the perfect pop of color for her black Zac Posen ensemble.
Unlike Emmy Rossum, Jane Fonda missed the mark with her choice of emeralds for the 2017 Emmys. The jewels didn't quite mix with her magenta gown. Plus the design of the Gismondi necklace, with an entire row of gemstones going down her back, was excessive.
Mandy Moore stunned from the waist up, with a girly pink lip and elegant side bun. We even adore her Jennifer Meyer drop earrings. But it was the bottom half of her look that didn't stack up.
Mandy Moore's strapless Carolina Herrera gown got a little bit too bold on the bottom with its tiered black-and-white design. We could've done without the stark contrast on such a poofy dress.
Shailene Woodley wowed in a rich velvet Ralph Lauren gown at the 2017 Emmys. The deep green dress boasted a sexy plunging neckline with pleating through the skirt.
Shailene Woodley's plush Ralph Lauren gown got even better from behind with a crossover strappy, open back. We love how she stayed true to her own boho style with loose pulled-back locks and cool wishbone-style earrings.
Gillian Anderson also opted to go velvet for the 2017 Emmys with a gorgeous cap-sleeved gown. We love the burgundy color with her blonde locks.
A little bit of black lace on the back of Gillian Anderson's dress made the look super-secretly sexy! We also can't get enough of her braided updo.
The only element of Gillian Anderson's ensemble that didn't do it for us was her glittering rainbow clutch, which didn't match at all.
Lea Michele went for it with a bold wine-hued Elie Saab gown at the 2017 Emmys. The "Glee" star's belted look packed some extra punch with its sequined design and very full skirt.
We love the contrast of Lea Michele's rich burgundy Elie Saab gown with her fun multicolored Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Those emeralds just pop!
Like Lea Michele, Debra Messing also opted to wear a marsala hue for the 2017 Emmys, but she ended up going totally wrong. Truthfully, her Romona Keveza gown looked like it was made out of plastic.
To make matter worse, Debra Messing went overboard with her jewelry. The "Will & Grace" star wore a chunky reddish orange bracelet with a matching ring and quite clunky earrings in the same color.
Ellie Kemper also got a little crazy on the jewel front for the 2017 Emmys. The "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" actress donned a busy Jenny Packham gown embellished with large blue and purple jewels. She topped it all off with huge Lorraine Schwartz earrings in a matching color.
Gina Rodriquez did an embellished look right! The "Jane the Virgin" star rocked a fiery red Naeem Khan gown with a plunging neckline and intricate sequin design for the 2017 Emmys.
Sarah Hyland channeled the fall season a bit too literally with a red-orange leaf-patterned Zac Posen gown at the 2017 Emmys. And the "Modern Family" star had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction when her black undergarment popped out through the midriff cutout.
Here comes the bride? Sarah Hyland's "Modern Family" co-star, Sofia Vergara, also missed the mark at the 2017 Emmy in a mermaid-style Mark Zunino gown that really belonged at a wedding. The strapless white gown was gorgeous, but much better suited for walking down the aisle.
Sofia Vergara's hair and makeup didn't help her case either. Her super-high pony with bangs and oversized dangling earrings were much too playful for the sleek white gown.
Millie Bobby Brown got it right with her take on white! The adorable "Stranger Things" star, 13, looked like a ballerina at the ball in a Calvin Klein frock at the 2017 Emmys. The poofy tulle bottom was adorable, yet still elegant.
Though Viola Davis was totally able to pull off wearing a bold jewel-toned orange for the 2017 Emmys, that doesn't mean we have to like the color, right? Regardless, we can't say that we 100 percent dislike her bright Zac Posen gown.
We do, however, love Viola Davis' reflective gold clutch. And, we can't stop staring at her Harry Winston wrist bling.
Anna Chlumsky dove headfirst into the latest trend, liquid metal, for the 2017 Emmys. Though it was definitely a big risk, she turned out looking pretty fierce in the all-silver sequin Sachi and Babi ensemble.
Sarah Paulson also got a nod for hopping on the silver sequin train with a Carolina Herrera frock at the 2017 Emmys. We're not sure anybody else could have pulled off such a daring disco-ball look, with such large sequins and poofy shoulders. But she sure looked cool.
The sexy open back on Sarah Paulson's sequined Carolina Herrera dress helped to balance out the intensity of the design.
Ariel Winter has got some great gams, but she didn't show them off in the best way at the 2017 Emmys. The "Modern Family" star's double-slit Zuhair Murad gown was way over the top with its tacky animal-print-esque sequin design and choker-style halter neckline.
Tracee Ellis Ross donned a silver sequined Chanel Haute Couture gown for the 2017 Emmys. And as much as we want to try to like this dress, we just aren't feeling the billowing sleeves, chunky belt and white feathered bottom.
Keri Russell took feathers in a better direction at the 2017 Emmys. The "The Americans" actress looked sexy and glam in a partly sheer black J. Mendel gown lightly adorned with dark feathers for dramatic effect.
Gabrielle Union definitely brought the drama! She donned a black Zuhair Murad gown with a sheer bottom, totally embellished with a floral sequin design. She topped off the look with a matching capelet and chunky yellow gold necklace. Maybe a tad dramatic?
Zoe Kravitz gave us a not-so-sweet taste of the rainbow with a feathered Dior gown at the 2017 Emmys. We applaud the "Big Little Lies" star for always stepping out of the style box, but this time, we think she flew away.
Tessa Thompson had us wondering if she got her dress for the 2017 Emmys from the set of the 1999 musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." The "Westworld" star wore a unique rainbow Rosie Assoulin gown that also gave us partial mermaid vibes with its shiny texture and pleated bottom. Still, we think the dreamcoat should be reserved for Joseph.
Donald Glover's colorblocked look was a hit. He looked super-cool with a bold purple suit and pop-of-yellow pocket square at the 2017 Emmys. It's nice to see a guy who's not afraid to get creative with fashion.
