"I've been doing this a long time, over 45 years. This is the first time I've ever won anything as an actor and I'm just so humbled and so grateful," Moore shared.
"Thirty years ago, I had a producer tell me that I was a popcorn actress and at that time, I made that mean that [awards] weren't something that I was allowed to have, that I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn't be acknowledged," she continued.
Signature Pixie Era
One of Moore's most iconic roles was in the film Ghost, which is the same project Whoopi Goldberg won an Oscar for. Aside from acting, fans of the movie fell in love with the mom-of-three's pixie cut, and it quickly became en-vogue.Throughout the decade, Moore became one of the highest-paid leading ladies in the industry.
