In a 9-0 decision, the United States Supreme Court ruled that former president Donald Trump cannot be removed from the Colorado ballot. The state had argued that the former POTUS and frontrunner for the GOP's 2024 presidential nomination violated the 14th Amendment's insurrectionist clause with his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol back in 2021.
Trump called the ruling a "big win for America" and siad that it will be "a unifying factor."
"I think it will go a long way toward bringing our country together, which our country needs," he said on March 4.
He wasn't the only big name in politics who spoke out about the ruling.
Keep reading to see who applauded the decision and who responded to the news by saying that the Supreme Court should be "dissolved." …

"The majority says that disqualifying a candidate for insurrection can only occur when Congress passes legislation. OK, quick question: If Congress does decide to pass that legislation to disqualify a candidate for insurrection, what if he sends his mob to storm Congress to stop them from passing that legislation? Does that count as insurrection? Or do they have to pass more legislation about that before the next mob shows up? I'm just asking because, clearly, you guys haven't put any thought into any of this stuff."

"Today's 9-0 Supreme Court decision needn't be something to celebrate, it's something we ought to once again take for granted: we the people decide who governs. "The biggest meaning of the Supreme Court decision on Colorado is that by 9-0 the Justices concluded that the biggest threat to democracy was not Donald Trump it was the left. Properly driven this can become a major political definition for the rest of the campaign and proof positive that the threat from the left is so great even the liberal Justices voted to protect the American people's right to have candidates they choose." —Newt Gingrich
