Drew Barrymore became a catfishing victim after thinking she'd met a professional football player.
The actress-turned-talk show host detailed her situation on her show on Jan. 26 and said that she's "about to get off dating apps" because of the catfishing scheme.

According to Drew Barrymore, she met someone on a dating app who claimed to be "the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams."
Her interest piqued, Drew messaged the guy: "Oh, my god, I went to the first practice game. I was so frustrated being a girl from Los Angeles who loves football" when L.A. didn't have any teams, she said. After Drew moved to New York City, L.A. got two NFL teams, the Rams and Chargers.

Following Drew Barrymore's message, the man at the other end of the keyboard confessed that he wasn't the quarterback of the Los Angeles Rams.
"He's a musician that thought he was being cute," she said.

Despite the man's attempt to be cute, Drew Barrymore was not biting.
"I was like, 'I hate you. You pithy, deceiving, playful… You've made me feel stupid,'" she said. "'I don't know who you are. I feel so dumb. Why did we have to get off on this foot? I hate you.'"
