In late November, she attended former first lady Rosalynn Carter's funeral alongside several other former first ladies.
Donald Trump's wife is "feeling more sure of herself — as both her husband's representative and her own position as a diplomatic figure after her positive reception at the Carter funeral," a source said.
In December, she also spoke at a National Archives ceremony.
