The Oscar winning actress has been sharing pro-Palestine messages on social media ever since Hamas' Oct. 7 attack on Israel. However, her latest rant was enough for UTA to show her the door.

While speaking at a rally in New York City this week, Susan Sarandon said, "There are a lot of people who are afraid of being Jewish right now, and they're getting a taste of what it feels like to be Muslim in this country."
The "Thelma & Louise" star's words angered the Jewish community.

A woman named Asra Nomani went viral after her response to Susan Sarandon, which rattled off all the freedoms she enjoys in America, which includes being able to live freely, have financial independence and have full rights.
"In 2002, I fled Pakistan with a souvenir that could have gotten me imprisoned or killed: a baby growing inside of me, a wedding ring not upon my hand," she wrote. "Sharia law makes sex out of marriage a crime in Muslim countries like Pakistan. My body? The mullah's tyranny. And even dare to be atheist like @YasMohammedxx? It's also a crime punishable by death — in Muslim countries but not in America!"
Asra added, "This is a 'taste' of life for a Muslim family in America. Please don't minimize the experience of Jewish Americans by sanitizing the hell that it is for Muslims living in Muslim countries and vilifying America for the life — and freedoms — she offers Muslims like my family. Go, live like a Muslim woman in a Muslim country. You will come back to America and kiss the land beneath your feet."

In continuing to support Palestinine, Susan Sarandon said, "I stand here in my cruelly given white privilege, to say that you don't have to be Palestinian to stand with the Palestinian people. You don't have to be Palestinian to understand that the slaughter of almost 5,000 children is unacceptable and a war crime. You don't have to be Palestinian to understand that war crimes are being delivered every single day, according to the UN and other humanitarian groups."
She continued, "This is a time for education because… so many people don't understand the context in which this Oct. 7 assault happened. They don't understand the history of what has been happening to the Palestinian people for 75 years. So this is an opportunity to educate people if they can have an open mind."

After her comments, Susan Sarandon was quickly labeled an antisemite. Many fans pointed to Julianna Margulies as the antithesis of Susan. In a chat with Variety, the "Morning Show" star condemned silence from Hollywood on the uptick in antisemitism amid the Israel-Hamas war.
"I've been trying to get past feeling so disheartened by it… and understand why every single person in our industry isn't standing up… It is shocking," she said. "Maybe they are afraid. I don't know what they are afraid of. Losing followers? It's just insane to me. That's not how I roll. Listen, the last thing I thought in my life was that I'd be the one actress speaking out for Jews. I hope I inspire other people to come out and talk and use their voice and use their platform to draw attention to this."
