The 14-year-old son of "Teen Mom" star Jenelle Evans is in the hospital and under state supervision after multiple runaway attempts, TMZ reported on Nov. 21, 2023.
According to the webloid, Jace ran away from his grandmother's home over the weekend of Nov. 18 and wasn't found for more than 24 hours. This marked at least the fourth time the teen ran away. TMZ further reported that Child Protective Services is taking custody of Jace, who will be placed in foster care after he's released from the hospital.
This latest incident stems from Jace allegedly vaping in school. TMZ reported that his grandma, Barbara — whom he'd been living with — took away his phone as punishment. Barbara had been advised by Jenelle, CPS and a foster care team not to give Jace a phone in the first place, but "she thought he could handle it," according to TMZ's sources. Jace allegedly showed his frustration by running away.
Amid his troubling pattern of running way, CPS officials are "exasperated" by the case, according to TMZ. It's also come to the point that Jace could end up in a juvenile detention facility if he gets into any more trouble.

Jenelle Evans' husband, David Eason, was charged with child abuse in the wake of her son's multiple attempts to run away from home this year.
The former "Teen Mom" star's eldest child, son Jace, was reported as missing at least three times in a month, prompting authorities to step in to investigate what prompted him to flee.
TMZ reported on Oct. 14, 2023, that neglect and assault charges were "almost certain" to come next, though it remained to be seen if both Janelle and David, who is Jace's stepfather, would face charges — or if just David would have to defend himself.
Come Oct. 24, David was hit with a misdemeanor. The circumstances surrounding the charge are unclear, but according to TMZ, there is video of an alleged assault involving Jace.
The possibility remained that Jenelle could still be charged, the webloid reported at the time.

Jenelle Evans took to her Instagram Story to sound off on Oct. 24, 2023, hours after news broke revealing her husband, David Eason, was being charged with misdemeanor child abuse concerning her son, Jace.
"You would think police wouldn't make a one-sided police investigation. They didn't conduct any interviews. Didn't ask any information from the parents. This seems like a very bias[ed] situation like every time before," she said.
"I trusted that detective with all my heart. I forgot you can't trust cops … silly me. I don't trust anyone around me. Going MIA for a while," she added.

On Aug. 15, Jenelle Evans' 14-year-old son, Jace, was classified as a runaway for a brief period of time. Fortunately, police quickly located him.
It's unclear what prompted Jace to run away from home, but Jenelle told TMZ that her son had recently gotten in trouble at school and had been disciplined at home as a result.
"As a boy mom, kids can act up and rebel as I'm sure the majority of us all once did as kids too," she told the webloid in August. "Jace got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that's when he decided to run off. Jace is a good kid and we're not dealing with anything that most families don't deal with while raising children, this has absolutely nothing to do with my situation with David, we do not argue in front of our children or fight in front of our kids."
"This is a teenage boy being a teenager mad that we decided to take his phone away," she added.
The former MTV star had been publicly feuding with her husband, David Eason, who is Jace's stepdad.

TMZ reported on Oct. 14 that police were investigating Jenelle Evans' husband, David Eason, after Jace accused his stepfather of assault.
Jace reportedly had visible marks on his neck and arm while speaking with police.
"The alleged assault is believed to have gone down at someone else's home, and there's Ring camera footage that police and CPS now have in their possession," TMZ reported.
Jenelle shares Jace with Andrew Lewis, although she has primary custody of the teen.

With authorities looked into possible charges against Jenelle Evans and husband David Eason, the couple decided to have a family outing at a gun show. Jace did not attend.
The couple took 9-year-old Kaiser and 6-year-old Ensley to a gun show in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Sunday, Oct. 15. TMZ reported that David purchased a bullet-proof vest for himself and a wooden battle ax for Kaiser.

With the investigation into the former reality TV couple is in its final stages, the duo acted like all was well.
"Nobody understands our relationship and that's fine because they don't need to!" David captioned a photo with Jace in early October. Around the same time, Jenelle blamed her mother for the chaos.
"I cannot begin to explain how badly my name is being smeared because of false allegations that all came from my mom's mouth to begin with. There are always 2 sides to every story and right now you're only hearing 1 side: hers," Jenelle said.
"I control my own family and my own sanity. She can use all the third party tactics she desires but she knows the truth, God knows the truth. I'm sick of holding her peace to let everyone rattle my own. Please, I need all the prayers and support as possible for my family and my husband. I talk to detectives every day about this situation and the media has it wrong. I need my son's mental health protected. … Your information is false and I will prove it very soon," she added.
