In August 2022, Jordan's future king, Crown Prince Hussein — the eldest son of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania — announced his engagement to Rajwa Al Saif, a Saudi national who attended the College of Architecture at Syracuse University in New York. Nine months later, the couple wed in front of European, Asian and Middle Eastern royals including Britain's Prince William and Princess Kate, the king and queen of The Netherlands, crown princes and princesses of other European nations, the Sultan of Brunei and other notable guests including America's first lady, Jill Biden.
