Christina Applegate laughs off plastic surgery accusation
Here's more proof humor is the best medicine. On Tuesday (Jan. 17), Christina Applegate shared a screenshot of comments from a troll who claimed the actress' appearance had changed because she went under the knife — not because she's battling multiple sclerosis. "Sooooo I made the unfortunate decision to look at some comments on an article from people mag about me and my kids at the CCA," the "Dead To Me" star wrote on Twitter. "Of course I told her that it wasn't nice. This was her reply." The person's comments, posted via screenshot, read: "MS didn't make you look that way. A plastic surgeon did. And you are a scammer and notChrist a [sic] Applegate." In another comment, they added, "And a bad plastic surgeon at that."
Christina — who's said she uses humor to help people "feel comfortable" when she's viewed "as a disabled person" — brushed off the comments with a chuckle. "What is wrong with people," she wondered, adding, "By the way, I laughed."

'Fight the good fight'
Todd Chrisley seemed to have faith on his mind the night before he and his wife, Julia Chrisley, reported to separate federal prisons to begin their sentences for fraud on Tuesday (Jan. 17). "HE is always on time… #fightthegoodfight," Todd captioned a clip of Karen Peck singing "Four Days Late" on Instagram on Monday night, according to Entertainment Tonight. The "Chrisley Knows Best" stars' children, Savannah and Kyle, both supported their dad in the comments, with Savannah writing, "I love you daddy," and Kyle chiming in, "I love you daddy this isn't over."
Kyle was likely referencing the appeals his parents are in the process of filing after they were convicted of federal tax evasion and bank fraud and sentenced to 19 years combined behind bars. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Florida's FPC Pensacola, while Julie's slated to spend seven years at Federal Medical Center Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky, CNN confirmed Tuesday. She was initially set to report to FCI Marianna SCP in Florida.
Channing Tatum talks marriage, divorce and crushing on Salma Hayek
"Magic Mike's Last Dance," the upcoming final installment of Channing Tatum's male stripper franchise, opens with Channing executing some particularly salacious moves on and around Salma Hayek. While the results are apparently plenty hot, filming the scene was beyond awkward for Channing. "I mean, she was one of my first crushes," he tells Vanity Fair in a cover story published Tuesday (Jan. 17). "But I do have to say that's almost the comfort zone for me."
Serious romantic relationships, meanwhile, are a bit less comfortable for the 42-year-old star, who split from Jenna Dewan in 2018 after nine years together and has been dating Zoe Kravitz since 2021. At this point, Channing says he's not sure "if I'm ever going to get married again" in the wake of the divorce, which he notes only happened after he and Jenna "fought" to save their marriage. "In the beginning, it was super scary and terrifying," Channing admits. But he says the split ultimately forced him to work on himself in a way that felt necessary. The alone time also allowed him to "become best friends" with Everly, the 9-year-old daughter he and Jenna share.
"Relationships are hard for me," Channing says. "Even though I am a bit of a monogamist. In business, I have no real fear of anything being destroyed. But heart things, when it comes to people I love, I have a really hard time. … I end up trying too hard, you know?"

Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, more stars test positive for Covid after Golden Globes
At least four stars who attended the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10 have since tested positive for COVID-19. Among them are "The Banshees of Inisherin" stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, along with and Michelle Pfeiffer and Jamie Lee Curtis, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed this week. All four of the actors were forced to skip the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (Jan. 15). On the bright side, while all four stars were nominated for Critics Choice Awards this year, none of them missed a win by staying home.
Jamie lost out on her Best Supporting Actress nod for "Everything Everywhere All at Once," to "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" star Angela Bassett, while Colin and Brendan failed to clinch Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor, respectively, with those awards going to Brendan Frasier ("The Whale") and Ke Huy Quan ("Everything Everywhere All at Once"). Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made For Television nominee Michelle Pfeiffer, meanwhile, was bested by "The Dropout" star Amanda Seyfried.
Aaron Carter's fiancee believes he overdosed after alleged drug deal
Aaron Carter's fiancee, Melanie Martin, has reportedly submitted new evidence to police in the late star's death. According to TMZ, Melanie found texts on Aaron's phone that suggest he may have been involved in a drug deal in his final days, then consumed a substance that killed him. The call alerting police to Aaron's death on Nov. 5, 2022, indicated an apparent drowning, as his body was discovered in a bathtub in his home. But Melanie tells TMZ the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office found no water in his lungs, which indicates he didn't drown. She says she found a text thread between Aaron and another person about an $800 sum the person allegedly said Aaron owed them for some substance. She says Aaron responded by saying he no longer wanted the substance, but the person said he still owed them $800. Melanie says Aaron then asked if he was being threatened "and that's where the conversation ends," per TMZ.
Melanie and Aaron's mom are reportedly waiting for the coroner to receive toxicology results. In the meantime, they've reportedly asked police to investigate the text exchange as possible evidence of a drug deal that may have contributed to the star's death. Police also reportedly found cans of compressed air and prescription pills in Aaron's home. The singer and former reality star was 34.
Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan reject columnist's new apology
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have rejected the latest apology from British TV personality Jeremy Clarkson, who penned a hate-filled column about Meghan for The Sun last month. Published in The Sun on Dec. 16, the controversial piece detailed Jeremy's "hate" for the Duchess of Sussex and featured a fantasy of making her "parade" around while people "throw lumps of excrement at her." Over the weekend, he shared a lengthy Instagram post saying he'd emailed Meghan and Harry to apologize for his "disgraceful" language in the piece. He also wrote that some of the imagery in his column was inspired by a scene from "Game of Thrones" that he forgot to mention. He said he also failed to run the piece by anyone before publishing it because he was in a rush.
On Monday (Jan. 16), a rep for Meghan and Harry issued a statement in response saying that in fact, "Mr. Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. The contents of his correspondence were marked Private and Confidential," according to People. "While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr. Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny," the response continued. "Unless each of his other pieces were also written 'in a hurry,' as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate." In addition to the thousands of complaints registered about Jeremy's column, according People, were public condemnations from 60 members of Parliament as well as Jeremy's daughter, Emily.
On Monday, Variety reported Amazon Prime will "likely" cut ties with the TV personality after his "final commissioned pieces … air."
Madonna announces 35-city, career-spanning tour
Lil Wayne, Amy Schumer, Jack Black, Diplo, Judd Apatow and more famous faces teamed up to help Madonna announce her Celebration Tour across North America and Europe on Tuesday (Jan. 17). The Queen of Pop, 64, revealed she's hitting the road after scrubbing her Instagram on Monday. The next day, she shared a video that riffed on her 1991 doc, "Truth or Dare," with Weezy, Amy and friends playing a racy version of the game at a dinner party. When Amy dares Madonna to sing every one of her hits on a tour, Madge joins Amy for a brief duet — on 1987's "La Isla Bonita" — then jokes, "Wait, hold on, that's a lot of songs … You think people would come to that show?"
Fans will have plenty of chances to do just that starting in July, when she heads out to "explore as many songs as possible" in performances in 35 cities, beginning with Vancouver, Canada, according to a press release on Madge's website. The release also promises the shows will span "Madonna's artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began."
