Bethenny Frankel rescinds positive SKIMS review after learning Kanye West owns a stake
Last week, after receiving samples of SKIMS socks, Bethenny Frankel posted a rare, positive review of the Kim Kardashian's product on TikTok — but she removed the post after learning that Kanye West owns a stake in the company. In a new video posted to the platform on Oct. 29, the "Real Housewives of New York City" star explained her decision to rescind the review, during which she called out Kanye's anti-Semitic comments. "It's come to my attention that a certain individual who I will not discuss — because I decided I am cleansing them from any conversation that I have anywhere — that individual owns 5% of SKIMS," she said. "This is a multi-billion dollar company, so if someone owns 5 percent of it it's actually very significant…That's a significant amount to own of a multi-billion dollar company." Continued Bethenny, "I have definitely made mistakes in inadvertently promoting — just by talking about — the wrong people…If I don't want that message in my life, in society, for my child, then I shouldn't discuss it negatively or positively."
Martin Luther King Jr. paid for Julia Roberts' hospital bill for her birth
A segment from Gayle King's conversation with Julia Roberts in September 2022 is going viral for the most heartwarming reason. While in conversation, the "Ticket to Paradise" star revealed that Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King covered the hospital bill for her birth because her parents couldn't afford it. Julia's parents befriended the King family while living in Atlanta and running a theater school. "Coretta called my mother and asked if her kids could be part of the school because they were having a hard time finding a place that would accept her kids," explained Julia, in reference to segregation in the 1960s. "My mom was like, 'Sure, come on over,' and so they all just became friends, and they helped us out of a jam."
Tim Roth's son passes away from rare germ cell cancer
"Reservoir Dogs" actor Tim Roth's son, Cormac Roth, has passed away at 25-years-old. While Cormac died on Oct. 16, 2022, his family didn't disclose news of his tragic passing until recently. "He was a wild and electric ball of energy and his spirit was filled with light and goodness," said Cormac's family in a statement. "As wild as he was, Cormac was also the embodiment of kindness. A gentle soul who brought so much happiness and hope to those around him. The grief comes in waves, as do the tears and laughter, when we think of that beautiful boy across the 25 years and 10 months that we knew him. An irrepressible and joyful and wild and wonderful child. Only recently a man. We love him. We will carry him with us wherever we go." Cormac, a Los Angeles-based composer and producer, revealed his stage 3 choriocarcinoma diagnosis, a rare germ cell cancer, in a July 2022 Instagram post. He was diagnosed in November 2021.
