On Wednesday, Sept. 28, Hurricane Ian made landfall near Cayo Costa, Florida, which is just a few miles from Fort Myers. The storm entered the state as a high category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds at 150 mph. Following landfall and in the lead up to it, many notable celebrities and politicians reacted to the powerful storm. Kerry Washington, for instance, tweeted, "For those of you in Florida affected by #Hurricane_Ian, I'm praying for your safety."
