Jamie Foxx surprises sports fan Cameron Diaz with 'un-retirement' advice from Tom Brady
Nearly eight years after her last movie hit theaters, Cameron Diaz is "un-retiring" for a new movie with her "Annie" costar, Jamie Foxx, Netflix announced on Twitter on June 29. And as Jamie revealed in a tweet of his own, Cameron's heading back into movie-making armed with "un-retirement" advice courtesy of a certain NFL star who has some experience in the artform. "Cameron I hope you aren't mad I recorded this, but no turning back now. Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT," Jamie tweeted after Netflix's announcement on Wednesday. The tweet also included audio from a call Jamie apparently placed to Cameron, an avid and longtime sports fan, after she accepted the Netflix deal for their film. "Thanks for calling, I'm so anxious right now," Cameron tells Jamie when she picks up the phone. "I'm, like, pacing the room … I feel excited, but I don't know how to do this, ya know?" That's when Jamie says he has "somebody on the other line" who may be able to help soothe her nerves. "Can I click him in?" he asks, getting a definite yes in response. A male voice then joins the call, Jamie says hello to someone named "Tom," then Jamie explains: "Cameron, it's the G.O.A.T." Almost instantly, Cameron knows the voice. "What? Tom? Oh my god … is this Tom Brady?" she says, laughing. The recently un-retired football star then says that Jamie told him "you needed a few tips at un- retiring." Cameron cracks up again as Tom says he's "relatively successful at un-retiring." When she's done giggling, Cameron admits the call is "honestly, exactly what I needed," Jamie tells them he's jumping off so they can "chat it up," and Tom promises to "take it from here." Production on Cameron and Jamie's Netflix collaboration starts "later this year," according to Jamie.

Say what you will about Ryan Gosling's platinum-haired, fake-tanned, super-neon '90s transformation for the new "Barbie" movie — his longtime partner Eva Mendes is all about her life-sized Ken doll. Eva, who shares two young daughters with Ryan, stopped by "The Talk" this week, where she dished on her response to Ryan's admittedly hilarious new look. "Well first of all, I saw the photo and the 14-year-old in me was like, ahhhhh …," she admitted on the June 28 edition of the show. "But you know, it's a funny photo and he's trying to be funny. So it worked on all levels." Earlier this week, new pics from the Los Angeles set of the upcoming comedy surfaced showing Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ryan's Ken filming a rollerblading scene in Venice Beach. They're clad in matching ensembles reminiscent of the 1995's "Hot Skatin' Barbie" edition of the dolls. The photo Eva found enticing, meanwhile, features an abs-out Ryan as Ken in an acid-washed denim jacket with cut-off sleeves and the waistline of his Calvin Klein-esque, Ken-branded undies showing up above his jeans … because, well, the '90s. "When I saw it, he sent it to me from work and I said, 'Can I please have that underwear? Please. I never ask for anything,'" Eva told "The Talk" hosts with a laugh. "So, anyways, I do have it. I'm wearing it right now," she joked. "There was something about the image that sparked my little teenage [self]." Some social media users have been less positive. "This is TERRIFYING," one person proclaimed on Twitter earlier this month. "How did they make Ryan Gosling not hot?" But Eva seems ready to defend her guy against the haters, too. When "The Talk" co-host Natalie Morales noted Ryan's look has "has sparked a lot of debate," Eva stopped the conversation right there. "People do know he's not playing a real person, right?" she asked, looking ready to laugh again. "He's playing a fake person." The Greta Gerwig-directed flick is due out in July 2023.

Travis Barker's daughter asks for 'prayers' as rocker is rushed to the E.R.
Drummer Travis Barker's kids appeared to be struggling amid news of their dad's sudden hospitalization on June 28. While it's still unclear what triggered the health scare, ET reported Travis was suffering from abdominal pain and doctors soon determined the cause was pancreatitis. The 46-year-old music star was photographed on Tuesday on a gurney as he was rushed into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. His wife, Kourtney Kardashian was close by, following him inside in the photos. "Please send your prayers," Alabama Barker, Travis' 16-year-old daughter, shared on her Instagram Stories, according to People. Later that evening, Alabama's brother Landon Barker, 18, was said to seem "very emotional" when he joined Machine Gun Kelly onstage at New York City's Madison Square Garden, where the two teamed up to perform their hit, "Die in California," and a song that was reportedly written in honor of Landon's late friend, the 19-year-old TikTok star Cooper Noriega. As of Wednesday morning, reps for Travis and Kourtney had yet to address Travis' condition. On Twitter Tuesday, Travis cryptically posted "God save me," though he may have just been quoting the name of the song he collaborated on with Machine Gun Kelly.

Man accused of stalking Ariana Grande breaks into singer's home
A man with a history of stalking Ariana Grande allegedly broke into her home in Montecito, California, on the singer's birthday over the weekend. On June 26, police responded to an alarm at Ariana's house and found Aharon Brown there, according to TMZ. Ariana was reportedly not home at the time. The man was arrested, taken into custody and has pled not guilty to charges including stalking and burglary, the outlet reported. He had been expected to turn himself in this week for having previously broken the restraining order Ariana took out against him in September 2021 after he allegedly broke into her house and threatened her with a knife. In her filing, the singer said she was afraid "fearful for my safety and the safety of my family," and that without a restraining order, the man "will continue to come to my home and attempt to physically harm or murder me or members of my family," according to Complex. Ariana also has a restraining order against a fan named Fidel Henriquez that runs through May 5, 2025.

Announced on June 28, The Academy's list of invitees also includes "The Queen's Gambit" alum Anya Taylor-Joy, and "Belfast" stars Jamie Dornan and Caitriona Balfe, among many others, many of whom were recently nominated for or won Oscars of their own. According to the Academy's announcement, the next step for invitees is a formal acceptance of the offer to join the prestigious organization.
Wendy Williams shares health update, reveals podcast plans
With "The Wendy Williams Show" officially behind her, Wendy Williams says she's planning to launch a podcast while continuing to work on her health. Speaking to "TMZ Live" this week, the former daytime TV star shared an update on her health and career plans, telling the outlet she's still suffering from severe lymphedema — a swelling condition caused by blockage in the lymphatic system — and can currently "only feel maybe 5 percent" of her feet. "Do you see this? [My foot] is up and down," she said at one point, holding up her swollen foot to the camera. Despite the swelling and her ongoing Graves' disease battle, Wendy, 57, said she's able to move around without a wheelchair and is feeling "better than [anyone]," overall. Looking ahead, Wendy said she's already at work producing the new podcast, though she was vague on details other than her plan to feature celebrity guests. "When you're famous, podcasts will make more money for me, being famous, than doing 'The Wendy Williams Show,'" she said. The show ended this month after 13 seasons on the air. Having long been displaced by guest hosts for health reasons, Wendy reportedly skipped attending the finale.
Wanda Sykes slams SCOTUS for overturning Roe: 'The country is no longer a democracy'
Wanda Sykes no longer believes the United States is technically "a democracy" after the Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade and five decades of legal precedent offering constitutional protection for the right to an abortion. "I'm a black gay woman and I have a daughter so I'm not doing so well right now. I'm a little salty," Wanda told Stephen Colbert this week while appearing on "The Late Show," according to the Daily Mail. "It's like the country, it is no longer a democracy, right? We're — it's no longer majority rules," she said, referencing polls that show most Americans did not support overturning the landmark 1973 ruling on abortion. "These judges, they basically lied during their confirmation hearings, right?" the comic said. Stephen agreed, noting "especially [Brett] Kavanaugh," who said repeatedly he did not support drastic changes in constitutional law prior to his confirmation on the nation's highest court. "So how can you be a Supreme Court justice and you just lying? What, they had their fingers crossed or something?" Wanda asked. She went on to take issue with "those states in the middle, that red stuff," meaning the less populated, conservative-leaning states in the country. "Why do they tell get to tell us what to do when the majority of us live out in New York, California, and we are paying for all this …," she continued. A number of social media users clapped back at Wanda over her comments, slamming the comic for suggesting "midwesterners are not Americans," as one user put it, or, as another wrote, claiming "Only New York and California have the 'right' to say anything as they are 'covering' the bill."
