Ruby Barker says she's been discharged after mental health hospitalization
"Bridgerton" star Ruby Barker has been discharged from the hospital where she was being treated for a mental health condition, the actress confirmed on Instagram this week. In a new video posted on Monday, May 30, Ruby, who plays Marina Thompson on the Netflix romance series, told viewers how much their support has meant to her since she announced last week that she'd been hospitalized. "You've made me feel so happy to be alive," Ruby said in the clip, which she captioned, "I've been discharged from the hospital!" She went on to share that she now "can't wait for the future" and is "doing OK" while "taking some time for myself to relax and breathe." Sharing advice she might give her "younger self" in the clip, the British star said she'd have told herself, "Listen, it's not all doom and gloom, even when you hit rock bottom … There's funny stuff in life all the time. Sometimes you've just got to find the funny." Ruby also thanked the cast of "Bridgerton" and shouted-out Claudia Jessie, aka Eloise Bridgerton, for a solid life hack she once gave her. "She told me to flip the coin. It might be dull on one side, but just flip the coin and you'll find it's shiny on the other," Ruby recalled. "It's training your mind to find the funny … to find the light, to find the positive. It's a really hard thing to do, but if you can get into the practice of doing that, you've got it." In the caption, the actress also urged followers, "… take care of yourselves, don't be afraid to check in with your loved ones and we're all in this together as they say in High School Musical big big love." She'd previously shared that she was feeling "rage-filled" while managing the "intergenerational trauma" she felt she had "bundled up inside" herself. She also noted that she would eventually discuss her diagnosis.
Dave Navarro reveals long-haul COVID-19 battle
Dave Navarro says he's still struggling with what's been dubbed "long-haul COVID-19," when symptoms of the virus continue long past a person's recovery and negative test results. "So yeah, I'm one of the ones who came down with the 'long haul covid,'" the 54-year-old Jane's Addiction guitarist wrote (and later deleted) on Instagram over the weekend, according to NME. "Been sick since December and supposedly will be back to my old self in… nobody knows how long," Dave said. He then advised others who may still be "suffering long after your negative results," to remember they're not "alone." "The fatigue and isolation is pretty awful but try to spend your time with the ones you love and stay creative. That's how I'm trying to get through this thing," he wrote. "Also lots of spiritual practices, meditation and yoga have been very helpful. I'll be OK, just don't know when." Dave added that, "Love and laughter are wonderful antidotes for a sickness that you really can't track," before telling fans not to worry, because, "all indictors are pointing to a full recovery at some point!" According to Stereogum, Jane's Addiction canceled their scheduled show at Florida's Welcome to Rockville music festival on May 22, citing Dave's "long bout with Covid."

New photos of Bradley Cooper on the set of his upcoming Leonard Bernstein biopic "Maestro" are raising some eyebrows on social media. That's because of the prosthetic nose and other features being used in Bradley's transformation into the acclaimed conductor and composer, an artist whose Jewish heritage figured prominently in his life as well as his music. Judging from photos published by the Daily Beast on Tuesday, May 31, the actor's use of special make-up effects and prosthetics intensifies in scenes showing Leonard as a much older man. "Bradley Cooper wearing a prosthetic nose to play a Jewish man is just…No. Bad," one critic posted on Twitter. "If the nose is so important to the character that it needs to be featured, just cast someone with that sort of nose." Another user wrote, "My question, 'How many pounds of latex would it take to make Bradley Cooper into an elderly Jewish man?' was supposed to be rhetorical. The answer, BTW, is 'Enough latex that somebody should probably find it a hair problematic.'" Bradley's new look comes courtesy of Oscar-winning special makeup effects artist Kazu Hiro, who transformed Brad Pitt into a man who ages backwards for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Nicole Kidman surprises Keith Urban onstage to hunt for his jacket
Ladies and gentlemen, we give you Keith Urban and Nicole … Urban? The actress formerly known as Nicole Kidman surprised her husband and his audience at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday, May 28, when she suddenly appeared onstage without warning — apparently, to help her man find his coat. A video shared on Keith's Instagram on Sunday captured the adorable moment, including the hilarious fake questions the country star asked his wife of 16 years when she joined him under the lights. "What's your name? Where are you from?" Keith quipped. "Nicole Urban," she replied, flirtatiously. Speaking into Keith's mic, she then explained why she was on the stage. "I wanna get your jacket. You put it on the floor," she told him. "She literally said, 'Don't lose that jacket,'" Keith told the audience as they began looking for the garment. "I'm like, 'How am I gonna lose the jacket?'" As it turned out, a guitar tech moved it — and once the couple made their way over to where the coat was, the flirty exchange continued as they Keith helped Nicole put it on. The actress — who sweetly called her husband "the best thing that's ever happened to me" earlier this year on "CBS Mornings" — tied the knot with Keith in June 2006.

Prince William, Duchess Kate not expected to join birthday festivities for Harry and Meghan's daughter
Prince William and Duchess Kate won't be on hand for their niece, Lilibet's first birthday party in England this weekend, the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday, May 31. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are expected to stay at Frogmore Cottage during their visit, which will reportedly include Queen Elizabeth II and Lilibet's first in-person meeting. Will and Kate, however, will be in Wales for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, according to the Mail. Despite Will and Harry's well-documented rift, the two are believed to be engaging in weekly Zoom calls in a bid to resolve the tensions between them. Harry and Meghan announced in January 2020 that they were bowing out of their roles as senior members of the royal family. They now live in Montecito, California, with Lilibet and their son, Archie, 3. The outlet's sources also say Harry and Meghan plan to keep a low profile during their stay so as not to overshadow the queen's Jubilee celebrations.
