When Paris Hilton ties the knot with her fiancé, venture capitalist Carter Reum, cameras will be on hand to film the wedding for her forthcoming Peacock series, "Paris in Love," and the crew might wanna rest up before the big day — er, days. "It's gonna be like a three-day affair. We have a lot happening," Paris told Jimmy Fallon on the Aug. 17 edition of "The Tonight Show." The DJ and heiress, 40, went on to assure Jimmy she's "not a bridezilla at all," then promptly admitted things will be a little over-the-top on the wedding gown front. "Lots of dresses, probably 10," she mused, adding, "I love outfit changes." Carter, meanwhile, is unlikely to pack multiple tuxes. "He's not as high-maintenance as I am," Paris said. She also explained that after her more serious YouTube documentary, "This Is Paris," in which she alleged she experienced "physical, emotional and verbal abuse" at Utah's Provo Canyon School, she wanted fans "to see that I found my Prince Charming and my happy fairytale ending." Paris and her Prince Charming got engaged in February; they were first linked as a couple in January 2020.

Meghan McCain details 'View' exit in new memoir
After four tumultuous years as a co-host on "The View," Meghan McCain said goodbye to her posts and colleagues on Aug. 6. We may soon know what sparked her departure. This fall, the conservative columnist and pundit will release a memoir on Audible, the platform told People this week. In the audio-only book, "Bad Republican," Meghan delves into her experience being raised by the late Sen. John McCain, how she came to be a "conservative rebel," her new life as a mom and "exclusive details surrounding her recent departure from 'The View,'" according to Audible's announcement. Meghan's tenure on the show was defined as much by her arguments with her liberal "View" co-hosts as it was by her ever-changing, often controversial hairstyles — looks that have led Vice to declare her hair "a hypocritical mess" and inspired countless tweets about whether and how much her stylist hated her. ("It's Covid and I just had a baby, let a b—- live!" Meghan tweeted in response to critics earlier this year.) While it's unclear if she'll divulge more hair deets, Audible promises the book will cover her "final moments" with her dad, "her (mis)adventures on the New York dating scene before meeting her now-husband, Ben," her "views on cancel culture [and] internet trolls," and why she really decided to leave "The View." "Bad Republican" lands on Audible Oct. 21.

Facebook, Instagram remove 'fat-phobic, racist' comments about Lizzo after tearful video post
In a recent Instagram Live post, Lizzo broke down in tears as she detailed the "fat-phobic … racist … and hurtful" comments she's gotten on social media. Her video got the attention of fans including her "Rumors" collaborator Cardi B, who jumped in to defend the singer. Now, Facebook and Instagram are getting proactive, too. Billboard reports the platforms have each removed hateful comments from Lizzo's accounts, having determined they violate Facebook's rules barring hate speech and harassment, a rep told the outlet. Facebook, which owns Instagram, will continue to monitor the posts and will remove comments or entire accounts that include such hate speech, the spokesperson said. A new feature on Instagram aimed at taming swells of similar comments allows users to automatically hide comments from anyone who doesn't follow the user or just started following them recently.

Colin posted the news on Instagram as well, sharing their new addition's "Seinfeld"-centric name, Cosmo, along with a mini-prank aimed at his "Weekend Update" costar, Michael Che. "OK ok we had a baby," the "SNL" actor and writer shared. "His name is Cosmo. We love him very much." In a second text slide, Colin added: "Privacy would be greatly appreciated. For all inquiries, please contact our publicist," then directed folks to "@chethinks," Michael's Instagram account. In his caption, Colin included the hashtag "#wegotawaywithitforawhile," leading fans to suggest in the comments that Cosmo may have arrived more than a few weeks ago.

Courtney Love is kicking off a new tattoo era in honor of her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain's 29th birthday. On Aug. 18, the Hole rocker shared a video of herself getting some new body art courtesy of London's Parliament Tattoo. "Mid life ink era begins. ✨," she captioned the post. "I saw these new dyes from a Korean stick/poke artist, got inspired, figured maybe my philosophy of only ever getting tattoos, in the red light districts of harbor towns when drunk, was slightly dated ( HA!), & also wanted to do a tribute to my beautiful daughter, Frances, whose birthday it is today & to my Pegasus like magician fae Pom bell, & to the innocence, open mindedness, enlightenment, that is 'The Fool,'" she continued. The birthday girl's dad was late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who died in 1994.
Alyssa Milano involved in car crash, says she's 'unsure' if her uncle will recover
Alyssa Milano was involved in a car accident with her uncle on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles on Aug. 17. "Yesterday, my family suffered a terrifying and traumatic event," the actress tweeted the following day. " I was a passenger in a car my Uncle Mitch was driving when he suffered a serious heart attack, resulting in a car crash. I am grateful to the people who stopped to help us. I'll never be able to thank them enough for the care and attention they, along with the first responders, doctors, nurses, and staff at UCLA Medical Center paid to him and to me," she continued. "Uncle Mitch is such an important part of our family. He's with us every day, spending time with my children and present in every meaningful part of our lives. He's still in the hospital, and we are unsure if he will recover." According to a California Highway Patrol report via CNN, Alyssa's uncle "drifted out of its traffic lane and struck a Black SUV which fled the collision scene" before police arrived and "initiated CPR on the driver." At the end of her message, Alyssa urged anyone reading Twitter to get certified to perform CPR. "You don't know when you'll be called upon to save a life," she wrote. "The American Red Cross and many hospitals and other organizations offer regular classes. It's such a small effort and can have a huge impact."
'AHS' superfan Noah Cyrus gushes about 'American Horror Stories' role
The first season of "American Horror Stories" — Ryan Murphy's anthology "AHS" spinoff — comes to an end on Aug. 19 with episode 7, and nobody is more excited for the finale than Noah Cyrus. The singer, 21, plays Connie in the episode, news Ryan revealed in a cast teaser on Instagram this week. Noah shared the same credits clip on her page, along with a long post about why the role was literally a dream come true after having grown up watching "AHS" on her sister, Miley Cyrus' tour bus while struggling with depression and body image issues as a little girl. "I cant even believe i'm looking at my name in this font," Noah wrote. "AHS has been my favorite show since i was 12 years old.. i was on tour with my sister and we'd lay in the back of the bus watching Asylum and it pulled me in immediately." She said that after "Asylum," she went back to the first season and watched the series all the way through multiple times — "more than any show, any movie, and probably more than any song i've ever listened to..," she said, adding that she can recite entire episodes along with the actors. Noah explained that she was in a "dark" place from ages 13 through 17, but when she felt "lost and insecure," "AHS" helped her through. "My body dysmorphia and depression was just eating away at my soul. it was so much pain for such a little body. but something about the show gave me comfort," wrote. "There was something else as painful and f—– up out there as i felt on the inside. this show has been such a huge f—— inspiration to me my music and so much more." Noah went on to say the only acting she ever wanted to try was in "AHS," so when she was cast, "all i could do was fall into a puddle of tears." She added, "I genuinely have only experienced this feeling one other time in my life. the feeling of actually LIVING YOUR DREAM. it was surreal and i couldn't be more thankful for this opportunity. it truly means the entire world to me." After thanking everyone "on camera and off" who she worked with, Noah gushed, "i genuinely cant believe this is my life right now. Set "AHS" Season 1's Murder House location, the "American Horror Stories" finale also features appearances by Kaia Gerber, Paris Jackson and Dylan McDermott. The show airs Aug. 19 on FX via Hulu.
Garth Brooks cancels the rest of his stadium tour amid latest COVID-19 surge
After warning fans in early August that he'd be reassessing the rest of his 2021 stadium tour, Garth Brooks has canceled all five stadium tour dates in the interest of safety amid the fourth COVID-19 surge and growing concern about the delta variant. "In July, I sincerely thought the pandemic was falling behind us. Now, watching this new wave, I realize we are still in the fight and I must do my part," Garth said in a statement on Aug. 18. "… It is with a heavy heart we announce the decision to cancel all five shows but with a hopeful heart, we will reschedule and start over when this wave seems to be behind us," he added. The country star also described "the joy I have seen on everyone's faces as live music returns," and expressed gratitude to his band and crew as well as the staffs at venues they've played during the pandemic, whose "dedication to safety" made those shows possible. Per the announcement, the cancelations add up to about 350,000 ticket refunds. Garth's team said they're looking to reschedule the dates.
