Megyn Kelly says NBC News gig wasn't 'intellectually stimulating'
Megyn Kelly has announced she's graduating from podcaster to SiriusXM Radio host this fall. The NBC and Fox News alum tweeted on July 6 that "The Megyn Kelly Show" "is expanding its reach" with a Sirius partnership that will see Megyn airing a live two-hour show five days a week on the digital radio platform. While discussing the SiriusXM deal in an interview with Business Insider published this week, Megyn reflected on her time at both Fox News and NBC, comparing her brief NBC tenure to her first marriage and saying it ultimately "wasn't intellectually stimulating" for her. "I had this soaring career at Fox that was great by any measure, but I was miserable at home. It was too stressful, too much time away from my family and my kids, and then I overcorrected at NBC by going too soft," Megyn said of her 2017 network transition. She exited NBC and her anchor post on "Today" in 2018 amid controversy over her defense of wearing blackface as part of a Halloween costume. By that point, her ratings had already fallen sharply and she was rumored not to get along with her co-anchors. "To be perfectly honest, the [NBC] job wasn't intellectually stimulating for me, and now I feel like I have the best of both worlds," she told the outlet this week. "I'm fired up and making a difference." "The Megyn Kelly Show" airs on Sirius beginning Sept. 7.

Gigi Hadid asks paparazzi to respect her daughter's privacy in open letter
In an open letter on her Instagram Story on July 5, Gigi Hadid asked "paparazzi, press, and beloved fan accounts" to respect the privacy of her 10-month-old daughter Khai as she gets older and more curious about the world. In her post, the model, who shares Khai with Zayn Malik, specifically asked for help keeping her little one's face out of photos. Gigi explained that Khai "loves seeing the world," writing that during recent visits to New York City, the baby's "wanted her sun shade up" on her stroller like it often is near the family's farm in Pennsylvania. "… She doesn't understand what I've wanted to protect her from," Gigi continued (via Glamour). The new mom said she also wants her daughter to see "…the beautiful and diverse people that walk down the streets of NYC … without the stress of the media circus that comes with parents who are public figures." Gigi said she and Zayn want Khai to be able to "choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age," so she can "can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen." Finally, Gigi wrote, "It would mean the world to us, as we take our daughter to see and explore NYC, and the world, if you would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blur her face out of the images, and if and when she is caught on camera." She concluded by saying she just wants "the best" for her little one "as all parents do" and thanked everyone who has been respectful of her wishes regarding Khai's privacy thus far. Gigi and Zayn quietly welcomed Khai in September.

Pics of the couple showed Pete's arm and hand tattoos have faded considerably, thanks to laser tattoo removal he's been slowly chipping away at. In fact, the the "Saturday Night Live" star jokes about the treatments in a new ad for Smartwater released this week. "I've made a lot of questionable choices, and a couple of them need removing," he quips in the ad, which seems to show him having some ink lasered off. Davidson says at the beginning of the clip, while getting his arm tattoos lasered off. He segues into a plug for the water by telling the camera that's he's now "trying to make smarter choices, hydrating with smartwater and stuff like that." Speaking to People recently, Pete, 28, explained that it's been "about four or five months" since his last tattoo removal session. "We're shooting some stuff and it takes like a month for it to heal … I get my next treatment [in] like a month or so," he added. "They said by the time I'm 30, they should all be gone. So they got, like, two more years left of this."

The Cannes Film Festival kicked off in the south of France on July 6 after most festivities were forced online by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. As celebs hit the red carpet, this year's jury president, Spike Lee, made a stylish splash in a bright pink suit, matching pink shades and a black fedora. Jury member Maggie Gyllenhaal was thinking pink on the red carpet as well, though she went for a more conservative shade. The festival, which continues through July 17, paid tribute to Jodie Foster, presenting the actress, director and writer with an honorary Palme d'Or as things got underway on Cannes' first day.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton finally made it official over the weekend with a small wedding ceremony at Blake's Oklahoma ranch on July 3. While the groom kept his wedding day fashion casual with jeans below his black tux jacket, white shirt and bow tie, the bride went big on her big day, opting for two custom, Vera Wang looks, both of which featured hand embroidered nods to the No Doubt singer's three sons. The famed designer showed off her handiwork on Instagram, where she described Gwen's ceremony ensemble as a "lily white silk georgette and hand tumbled tulle high low gown with a plunging neckline and a cut away back," plus a "a lily white chapel length veil featuring hand embroidered names of Blake, Gwen, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo flanked by 2 white roses at the hem of the veil." Vera also posted a pic of the bride's flirtier, fun reception look — a "lily white Italian silk crepe and hand tumbled tulle strapless mini dress with hand pieced silk, crystal and sequin embroidered foliage delicately trickling from the waist down the skirt," according to the designer's caption. "The embroidery is highlighted by a pair of hand sewn love birds symbolizing the couple. They are joined by 3 baby love birds representing Gwen's children," Vera added. Gwen shared pics of her reception mini too, noting in the Instagram caption, "you need a party dress when u get to marry @blakeshelton …"

Britney Spears' longtime manager resigns, her court-appointed lawyer is reportedly exiting too
Britney Spears' longtime manager Larry Rudolph is cutting ties with the singer, whose career he's helped guide since she was a teenager. According to BBC News, Larry wrote to Britney's conservators, Jamie Spears and Jodi Montgomery, explaining that he hasn't "communicated" with Britney for more than two years and that when they did last speak, "she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus." He added, "Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire." Larry's not the only one exiting Britney's team, either. Last week, the financial management firm Bessemer Trust resigned its post as her co-conservator, citing her recent claims the conservatorship has been abusive and she wants it to end. Britney's court-appointed lawyer of 13 years, Sam Ingham, is reportedly resigning as well. Sources tell TMZ he was frustrated by Britney's assertion that he never told her she could file to end the conservatorship. Both TMZ and People, meanwhile, have denied recent reports Jodi Montgomery is joining the exodus and bailing as Britney's personal conservator.
Will Smith gifts Fourth of July fireworks display to New Orleans
No fireworks on the Fourth of July? No problem — as long as Will Smith's in town … After moving the production of his new film "Emancipation" from Georgia to New Orleans because of Georgia's restrictive new voting law, the "Independence Day" star learned the Crescent City's budget issues would prevent New Orleanians from seeing fireworks over the Mississippi River for the second year in a row. So Will swooped in and footed the bill for the show, which the city told the AP was about $100,000. Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced the display had been a gift from the star and his production company, Westbrook, on Twitter over the weekend. (Will spent time in New Orleans a few years ago, as well, while Jada Pinkett Smith was filming "Girls Trip.") His film, "Emancipation," is based on the true story of an enslaved man who escaped a Louisiana plantation in 1863 after suffering brutal whippings. He went on to serve in the Union army during the Civil War, while photos of his scars helped expose the truth about what was happening on plantations during slavery.
Jill Duggar, Derick Dillard address 'Counting On' cancelation
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard broke their silence this week on TLC's decision to cancel her family's show, "Counting On," ahead of Josh Duggar's November trial. In a statement on the couple's website, the former reality stars said they learned of the cancelation after it made headlines last week and don't know how long it was in the works. "It's been over 4 years now since we chose to step away from the show," they said, referencing their 2017 departure, "and, although we were initially barred from sharing our decision to leave the show, we have opened up a little more recently on our social media." Jill and Derick went on to say they "had many great experiences with the network" and crew but "we also faced many pressures and some unexpected challenges which forced us to step away from the show in an effort to gain more control over our own lives and to do what was best for our family." The statement continued: "The pursuit of freedom and authenticity has been a growing theme in our lives. … Our family's departure from 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On has allowed us to make our own decisions, including the ability to have a choice in what we share. For now, we will move forward on our own terms, and we look forward to whatever opportunities the future holds." The couple did not mention the controversy Derick faced after making transphobic comments in 2017 or Josh's April arrest by federal authorities who say he had hundreds of images of children in sexually compromised situations on his computer. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Kim Kardashian is putting KKW Beauty on hold
Kim Kardashian West's KKW beauty brand is set to press pause on its website for a rebranding Kim says will extend to the formulas of her products as well as the look of their packaging. "On August 1st at midnight we will be shutting down the http://KKWBeauty.com site so that we can come back to you under a completely new brand with new formulas that are more modern, innovative, and packaged in an elevated and sustainable new look," Kim tweeted on July 6. In other posts, she said she was "excited" for fans to "o finally be able to experience [KKW] the way that I have always envisioned." According to TMZ, there's no truth to initial murmurs about name change being in the works for the billion-dollar brand as Kim proceeds with her divorce from Kanye West. The outlet reports "major changes are coming" but oth Kim and KKW will keep their name for now.
