Did Angelina Jolie and The Weeknd share an 'hours-long' dinner date?
Has Angelina Jolie changed her mind about staying single — or is The Weeknd taking career advice from the multi-hyphenate star? It's hard to tell just yet, but Page Six spotted the unlikely pair leaving an allegedly "hours-long" hang at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California, on June 30. The singer-actor, 31, left separately from Angelina, 46, presumably to avoid being photographed together, though they hardly kept their meetup under wraps. "They're clearly not trying to hide [the dinner date]," a Weeknd source told the outlet. The source did note, however, that the singer is "definitely focused on getting to the movie business," a plan he's launching via HBO's upcoming "The Idol," which he's set to co-write and star in. Given her Oscar acting win and her screenwriting and directing experience with 2011's "In the Land of Blood and Honey," 2017's "First They Killed My Father" and 2015's "By The Sea," Angelina wouldn't be a bad source for advice as The Weeknd moves toward realizing his goal. Guess who's a mom?! On July 1, Amber Heard introduced Instagram followers to her new daughter, Oonagh Paige, whom she called, "the beginning of the rest of my life." As the 35-year-old actress explained in the caption to a serene mother-daughter photo, she began her journey to motherhood four years ago. "I wanted to do it on my own terms," she wrote. "I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it's normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib." She said that while she believes her private life deserves to remain private, she also feels "compelled" to "take control" of the narrative, given her work in the public sphere. "My daughter was born on April 8, 2021," Amber concluded. "Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She's the beginning of the rest of my life." Amber's late mother, who passed away last spring, was named Paige as well.

Meghan McCain is leaving 'The View' after four bumpy seasons
After nearly four seasons on "The View," Meghan McCain's days of publicly arguing with Joy Behar will soon come to an end. On July 1, the conservative co-host announced she's leaving the show after the current season ends. "I'm just going to rip the band-aid off," Meghan said, according to People. "I am here to tell all of you, my wonderful cohorts and viewers at home: This is going to be my last season here at 'The View.'" Meghan, 36, explained that "it was not an easy decision," but after "a lot of thought and counsel and prayer," she decided she wants to raise her daughter, Liberty, in the Washington, D.C., area, where she and her husband, Ben Domenech, both have family, friends and an "incredible support unit." Despite the controversies and mini-feuds Meghan was involved in over the years, she called "The View" "one of the hands-down greatest most exhilarating most wonderful privileges of my entire life." Meghan, who frequently references her late father, Sen. John McCain, on the show, added that he'd encouraged her to accept the full-time host offer, which she initially did not want to do. "He said that I could never give up an opportunity to work on such an iconic show and to work with Whoopi Goldberg, and he was right," Meghan said. She praised her other co-hosts as well, including her go-to sparring partner, Joy, who called her a "formidable opponent." As Meghan wrapped up her announcement, she joked, "And I will still be here another month, so if you guys want to fight a little bit more, we have four more weeks."

Prince William and Prince Harry shelved the tensions between them on July 1 to reunite for the unveiling of a statue in honor of their late mother, Princess Diana. "Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy," the brothers said in a joint statement on the day she would have turned 60. Though the two were seen talking together near the site of the statue in Kensington Palace's Sunken Garden, the New York Times noted they mostly kept their distance from one another. British royal watchers, meanwhile, found little in their body language to indicate they were getting along on more than a surface level. "It's going to take a lot for this rift to be healed," royal expert and author Penny Junor told the Times. "The initiative has to come from Harry, and it doesn't seem to me that he is in any mood to do so." William, meanwhile, is said to still be angry about Harry and Duchess Meghan's departure from their official royal duties — and their subsequent, televised allegations of racism and emotional neglect within the royal family. Harry reportedly left the U.K. soon after the 30-minute ceremony.

Sparks were clearly flying between Rob Lowe and Demi Moore in two of their classic '80s collaborations, "St. Elmo's Fire" and "About Last Night." And while we may never know the truth about their their rumored off-camera romance — "a gentleman never kisses and tells," Rob once said when asked about their past — the star recently opened up to Yahoo about their multiple steamy love scenes in "About Last Night," which opened over Fourth of July weekend in 1986. "In those days, there was a sex scene in every movie," Rob said, laughing. "Every script I used to get, I would go to page 73, because that always where the sex scene was! It didn't matter if it was a movie about priests and nuns, on page 73 there was going to be a sex scene. Today, you'd watch 17 movies and never see people with their clothes off unless [the movie] is about that." Relevant or not, Rob said sex scenes are never really "fun" to shoot. "They're not a hall pass, as much as you would like it to be. They're very technical and usually very boring. I don't know if you've had to kiss anybody for eight hours straight — it's not fun! It's not all you bargain for," he explained. Despite the boring technicalities, the actor, now 57, recalled that working with someone he'd become close to while filming 1985's "St. Elmo's Fire" made the whole thing easier, even though he'd initially pushed for another leading lady. "But I'm really, really glad it was Demi, and that other people made that decision," he said. "We were friendly and we were comfortable [with each other], and that's the key to doing any love scene or any nude scene in particular." He added that Demi, now 58, was ultimately "great" in the role: "I think it's one of her best performances ever to this day."
Britney Spears invited to discuss conservatorship battle before Congress after losing bid to remove her father
A group of Republican House members want Britney Spears to discuss her conservatorship battle before Congress. Amid news Judge Brenda Penny denied the singer's request to remove her father from his conservator role, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, along with three of his Republican colleagues, sent a letter to Britney this week in which they told her she's "been mistreated by America's legal system" and they "want to help," according to Fox News. Co-signed by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Burgess Owens, R-Ohio, and Andy Biggs, R-Ariz, the letter continues, "The United States Congress should hear your story and be inspired to bipartisan action. What happened to you should never happen to any other American. Congress can make things better and you can inform our policy decisions." The invitation to speak goes on to say the group "could see the struggle and torment" Britney's experiencing, as well as the "obvious financial, emotional and psychological abuse at the hands of your conservators." The politicians concluded by urging the singer, 39, to share her "powerful" story, thereby sparking "bipartisan action" and potentially giving "hope to millions" of others who are or will be placed in similar court-ordered arrangements. "You owe nothing to anyone," they added. "… you deserve to live a life of freedom and to choose your own path."

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight this week at the premiere for his new film, "The Tomorrow War," the actor shared some marital advice from his own experience. "Communicate," he told the outlet. "Listen, listen to your partner with intention. Care about each other's feelings and support one another and just listen." Chris, 42, and Katherine, 31, said "I do" in Montecito, California, in June 2019. They had reportedly been dating for less than a year when he popped the question, which he did only after getting Katherine's parents Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger's blessings. The pair went on to welcome a daughter, Lyla, in August 2020. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star also shares an 8-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-wife, Anna Faris — and as he told E! News on July 1, he hopes there are more siblings in Jack and Lyla's future. "I would love to have more," he said, "… as many as the man upstairs will provide." Martha Stewart is recuperating from Achilles' tendon surgery
Ouch! Martha Stewart revealed this week that she's recovering from surgery — and will continue to do so for six weeks — after rupturing her Achilles' tendon. Sharing a photo of her ankle and foot wrapped in medical gauze, Martha, 78, explained on Instagram this week that she sustained the injury "a while ago" and had no luck trying to "get it to heal on its own." lWhen that approach failed, the lifestyle guru said she had a three-hour surgery instead. "Recuperating at home I have been ordered to lay still with leg elevated for two weeks. After that another two to four weeks of crutches. Then maybe some more normal activity," she wrote. "Most such ruptures occur when dancing or playing sports. Mine was caused by a surprise step into a hole in the dark getting out of the car," she quipped, before thanking the staff at New York University "for attempting to make me whole again."
