Nicola Coughlan told 'Bridgerton' superfan Kim Kardashian West she inspired her character — and Kim lost it
There's a serious friendship brewing between self-proclaimed "Bridgerton" stan supreme Kim Kardashian West and Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington on the hit Shondaland series. Earlier this week, Kim alerted her Twitter followers to a thread with Nicola in which she said she her onscreen sisters have an ongoing debate about which of their characters is the equivalent of which Kardashian sister. "As the world's number one @bridgerton Stan does @KimKardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings? Because I feel like she should know this," Nicola tweeted on April 20. "The three of us genuinely debate this all the time," she continued. "I think Prudence and Phillipa are very Kourtney and Khloe cos they're besties, and Pen is a very successful business woman, also I remember Kim being like a very good detective too so there's that…" Kim didn't even try to play it cool. "WHAT?!?! I am freaking out!!!!!! This tweet was sent to me on my @bridgerton group chat! Can I please come to a fitting?!?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!!!" she wrote , sharing Nicola's tweet. Things only got more adorable from there. "Omg yesss of course we would love to have you! Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton?" Nicola asked. "You've been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know!❤️❤️❤️." Again, Kim was anything but restrained in her reply. "OMG I'm gonna faint!!!!!!" she wrote. "Does this make me an honorary Duchess in Bridgerton ?!?!?!? I am the corset Queen!!! 😉" Nicola was happy to oblige her request: "Why of course, Duchess Kardashian of Calabasas!" she told Kim. "Lady Whistledown is happy to declare you the season's true incomparable."

Chris Noth reveals his favorite 'Sex and the City' scene between Carrie and Big
There was a lot to love — and hate — about Carrie's on-off romance with Big on "Sex and the City." But which scene is a favorite for Chris Noth, who played Sarah Jessica Parker's maybe Mr. Right for years? Speaking to Kelly Clarkson on her show this week, the actor, now 66, revealed he still loves one that involves Carrie making a not so glamorous, um "digestive" sound at an inopportune time. "Well, my favorite was when she farted in bed," Chris admitted, per People. "And I insisted on doing the sound to get it right, because I'm an expert in farts. And that was a good one because then she tried to put her head under the covers and it was like, 'No, no don't go there, that's where the trouble is!'" Laughing, Chris also remembered how his character riffed on Carrie's super-embarrassing moment with a whoopee cushion. "She's out getting a glass of wine," he said through giggles, "and I put it on her chair and we're discussing a future vacation and she sits on it, it's like 'gahhh!'" Chris has yet to clarify his social media response to whether he'll appear on the "SATC" reboot with Sarah Jessica and the rest of the gang (minus Kim Cattrall). Responding to a fan who was crushed to see Page Six reporting Chris wouldn't be reprising his role as Big, the actor wrote, "Well. if Page Six says it… it must be true😉." Chiming in on another comment, he wrote, "Everything changes- including announcements in the rags."

Cardi B to Olivia Rodrigo: 'Don't let anyone restrict your voice'
Ahead of her debut album release next month, Olivia Rodrigo admits she worries how people will react to music that comes from such a personal place. Luckily, she has Cardi B in her corner, reminding the 18-year-old "Driver's License" singer that her voice is there for her to use however she sees fit. "I'm so in love with her, I want to marry her," Olivia gushed in last week during an interview with Zane Lowe. "When I listened to her song ['Get Up 10'], I'm like, 'Oh wow, she really just said that on a recorded album,'" Olivia marveled. "Those are my favorite artists — who say stuff that other people are scared to say. So I think she does that so well. That's definitely something that I sort of grapple with in my songwriting." She went on to explain that she's written music "about stuff that I don't tell some of my closest friends, and I'm going to put out for the whole world to scrutinize … it's a really horrible, terrifying thing." When she gets anxious, though, Olivia looks to Cardi and her honesty. "She gives me courage to sort of say whatever I want to say and be honest in telling my story," Olivia said. Cardi, 28, caught wind of Olivia's praise and hopped on Twitter to share some advice. "This is so sweet," the rapper wrote. You doing sooo good for your age. Don't let no toxic s— get to you and don't let nobody restrict you from your voice." Olivia's album, "Sour," lands May 21.
LeVar Burton thanks fans for helping him land 'Jeopardy!' guest hosting role
LeVar Burton got his "Jeopardy!" wish! After an intense social media campaign to get the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" actor a guest hosting gig on the trivia show, "Jeopardy!" producers announced on April 21 that LeVar will take the host reins at the end of July. "THANK YOU… to all y'all for your passionate support!" LeVar tweeted after the news was announced. " I am overjoyed, excited, and eager to be guest-hosting Jeopardy!, and will do my utmost best to live up to your faith you in me. YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE! Go ahead and take my word for it, this time." In addition to his own online push for the job, LeVar's fans urged "Jeopardy!" producers to bring him on the show with a Change.org petition that noted he's "inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds" over the course of his long career. (In addition to his role on "Star Trek," LeVar hosted the PBS series, "Reading Rainbow," from 1983 through 2006. He's continued that literary bent with his current, short fiction-focused podcast, "LeVar Burton Reads.") LeVar joins Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, David Faber and Joe Buck in the final group of guest hosts for Season 37. Maya Rudolph would do a 'Bridesmaids' sequel … called 'Old Ladies'
For years, fans have been begging Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Paul Feig to consider making a sequel to "Bridesmaids," their hilarious, not-so-romantic take on what friends of a bride really go through in order to support a pal on her big day. Ten years after the original, Maya, for her part, says she's totally "down" to revisit the film, though as she admitted to Entertainment Tonight recently, the girls might be past their "bridesmaid" prime at this point. "I guess it wouldn't be called 'Bridesmaids,'" she mused. "It would be called 'Old Ladies' or something." Maya, who starred as the bride, Lillian, also rehashed some of her favorite memories from filming the flick — including a "stripper scene" that didn't end up being used. "But we prepared for the movie by going to a male stripper club, which I had never been to and haven't been to since," Maya recalled. "But that was pretty delightful. What great character research. 'Character research' …," she joked.
Jennifer Lopez reportedly ended things with Alex Rodriguez over unresolved 'trust' issues
In the wake of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's split, insiders tell People J.Lo was the one who pulled the plug after determining that she shouldn't be with Alex because she can no longer trust him completely. It seems the coronavirus pandemic also intensified problems they were already having. "She has been pretty miserable and didn't think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex," says a friend of the singer. Another source adds, "They both liked spending more time together as a family, but it was difficult to keep that special spark when they saw each other every day." The pair got engaged in March 2019 and over the years, began to blend both their families — they each have kids from previous relationships who are now close — and their careers, making the untangling more complicated. But according to People's sources, once infidelity rumors about Alex surfaced after Jen went to the Dominican Republic to film a new project, things went south. "Whether or not he has cheated doesn't matter," a music industry insider tells outlet. "She won't tolerate the fear of it in the air between them." Despite all of that, Jen's friend says she's "been in these difficult situations before" and "is not one to sit around and cry," adding that it's ultimately her kids who make her "the happiest."
Lupita Nyong'o opens up about bringing Africa's first 'kid superhero' the small screen
Growing up in Kenya, Lupita Nyong'o never saw cartoon superheroes that looked like her or lived in the place she called home. Now, she's poised to help change that landscape for the next generation of kids, courtesy of "Super Sema," a YouTube Originals series that follows Sema, "a 10-year-old African girl with an extraordinary ability to change the world," with some help from technology, her imagination and her twin brother MB. Lupita recently signed on to executive produce the series; she's also set to voice the character of Mama Dunia, the spirit of Sema's late mother. "This is exactly the kind of show I want to see out in the world, and it's the kind of show I wish I had when I was a little girl," Lupita tells People. "I wept with glee watching a dark-skinned African girl who's determined, resourceful, and has an innate sense of justice on my screen." The Oscar-winner's also excited that Sema and MB use their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) skills to save the day and protect their community. "I think the show will inspire kids to be curious about these subjects … and the show's message, which is about applying your mind to solve the world's problems, is powerful," she explains. It doesn't hurt that her collaborators on "Super Sema" are all women. "It is something to globally celebrate," she says.
