Chrissy Teigen said she's "frustrated" over the controversial leaked photo of her friend Khloe Kardashian, and she even spoke to a mental health professional about it.
"I went, like, a million different ways with it," she told Andy Cohen. "I actually ended up talking about it in therapy, oddly enough, because of my own body insecurity issues and what celebrities have done to people in distorting their image of what a real human body looks like."
In early April, an unedited photo of Khloe in a bikini surfaced on social media. The image, which is current, showed Khloe without makeup and without photoshop editing, which the Kardashian family is suspected of often utilizing. Several websites and social media accounts shared the image, which was reportedly posted by Khloe's grandma (a family rep, though, said an "assistant" posted it). Quickly after, the famous family began threatening legal action against websites running the photo, according to reports.
A family rep told Page Six that the Kardashian-Jenner clan wanted the image off the Internet because it was unauthorized — not because Khloe was pictured looking au natural. Then, on April 7, Khloe addressed the situation and insinuated that the picture was unflattering, hence why she wanted it off the Internet.
In addressing the photo fallout, Chrissy said, "You get frustrated because I look at Khloe and I'm like, 'Of course, you're so beautiful, you're so strong.' The changes that she's made to her body, she's so proud of and everybody's so proud of."
The "Lip Sync Battle" co-host continued, "If she didn't want that photo to be out, she didn't want that photo to be out, and that's fine, too."
The model said "there can be two truths" in this situation, while maintaining that social media plays a big role. Social media users, she said, "can't possibly believe that someone would not want this photo out, but also be proud of that photo."
Had the leak happened to her, Chrissy, who admits to being highly critical of her body in the past, stated she would "want people to know that, like, this is a strong, powerful photo of myself and I'm proud of it."
Two weeks after Khloe's photo controversy, the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star got in an Instagram flap after a user was critical of a series of images Khloe posted that showed her in a tight-fitting space-inspired bodysuit.
"If insecurity was a person," the user wrote.
The comment didn't sit well with Khloe.
"Baby girl, you have to look in the mirror. Only insecure people tear other people down," she replied. "I'm sending you so much love, health and happiness! I'm sorry that you're hurting."
