The days of Katie Holmes' super (not so) secret romance with Jamie Foxx are starting to feel like a distant memory. On Thursday, the 41-year-old star stepped out hand-in-hand, yet again, with her new beau, Emilio Vitolo Jr., in New York City. Katie, who spent a good chunk of the past few years hiding her relationship with Jamie Foxx from public view before they finally called it quits, has been popping up around the Big Apple with the 33-year-old, celeb-connected chef constantly since they were first linked as an item in early September. Their latest daytime date appeared to involve a stroll around town on their way to an outdoor lunch. At one point, they were also caught by paparazzi riding the subway like any other newly smitten couple in NYC. Katie has yet to address the romance publicly, but between the duo's strolls, their cozy outdoor meals and their shared Central Park kisses, it's pretty clear they're way past the "friend zone." Even Katie's daughter, Suri Cruise, now 14, reportedly approves of her mom's new flame.

NY resident sues town over Beyonce's 'Black Is King' filming
The town council of New York's Shelter Island faces legal action for allowing Beyonce to film part of "Black Is King" at Sylvester Manor, a historic site where 17th Century plantation owner Nathaniel Sylvester, his descendants — and their slaves — lived. Many of the family's slaves are also buried in unmarked graves on the property, which has been the subject of extensive research and documentation. It's that history that inspired Beyonce to film part of "Black Is King" there. Mike Gaynor, who owns a neighboring property, however, complained in court documents excerpted by Page Six that Beyonce and Disney failed to get permission to film there. (In fact, Disney bought the competed film from an indie production company.) Gaynor, who is white, filed suit last week, "against the town, all of the town trustees and the Community Preservation Fund board's member," according to Page Six. "I have official confirmation from the town clerk that no permits were obtained," he told the outlet. "I was deeply offended when I learned that The Manor took money from Disney to allow the film … on what is without argument on wholly sacred ground. … there are at least 200+ enslaved Africans and Manhasset Indians buried on their land and so that's just not a place where you film a dance-off." Described as "a celebratory memoir for the world on the Black experience," "Black Is King" reimagines the "Lion King" narrative to tackle issues around identity and self-discovery for the African Diaspora. Gaynor's name has been in the news in the region for years due to a lengthy legal battle he fought against the village of Sag Harbor regarding an expansion he wanted to make on his home there.

"I never say anything about this stuff but this is the most transparent humble brag I've seen yet," Bethenny wrote (via Page Six). "It's everything wrong with everything." She elaborated on Twitter later, posting: "I commented on @usweekly on a 12k backpack on @KylieJenner daughter. I'm no stranger to an @Hermes_Paris bag & have a daughter & luxury cars, but flaunting(under the guise of a back to school post)during a pandemic & the greatest unemployment crisis in our lifetime is a choice." Since leaving "Real Housewives of New York City," Bethenny's primary work focus has been on her disaster relief organization, BStrong.

Donald Glover reveals he quietly welcomed a third son this year
Turns out there's a tiny new Donald Glover in the world! In an interview with GQ published this week, the singer and actor revealed he and his partner Michelle White welcomed their third child, a son named Donald after the star's father, a few months back. Donald admitted that it was a strange experience, adding a child to the family during both the coronavirus pandemic and the early days of widespread protests over George Floyd's death at the hands of police. "Yeah, it was nuts. I was in the hospital bed. My son had just been born, like, an hour before and I was watching the George Floyd video," he told the outlet. "It was such a weird moment." Not that it seems to have tamped down his love of fatherhood … Donald added that he and Michelle are thinking of adopting. "… Because we have three boys so I'm like, 'Oh, it might be nice to be get a girl in there,'" he mused. The couple's other kids are sons Legend, born in 2016, and Drake, born in 2018.

After a difficult few weeks and, more recently, a number of harrowing days in the hospital, Chrissy Teigen announced Wednesday night that she and her husband John Legend lost their baby due to complications. She was about halfway through her pregnancy. Since she was hospitalized for excessive bleeding from the placenta Sunday, Chrissy had been posting hopeful messages on social media about her "strong," "wonderful" and "active" baby, whom she and John had started calling Jack. As outlets like the New York Times noted, her openness about the complications and eventually, about the loss, touched a nerve — not just because she was so far along or because of the couple's popularity, but also because pregnancy loss is still rarely discussed in public. Chrissy's heartwrenching post about the news, however, garnered a huge wave of support in Hollywood and beyond, particularly from celebrities who are parents themselves. "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we've never felt before," Chrissy shared, along with photos from the hospital, including one of Chrissy cradling her son in her arms. "We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn't enough." Later in the moving post, she wrote: "Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. To our Jack—I'm so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn't give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you." Among those who sent the couple their love in the comments were Chrissy's friend, Kim Kardashian, who posted, "We're always here for you and love you guys so much," and Selma Blair, who wrote. "I am so sorry angel momma. I am so sorry. This grief. This grief. It will hold you and the love will break through. I am so sorry. Your family. [Heart] You. Love you. My deepest sympathies." Mariah Carey told the grieving couple, "I'm so sorry. I love you. Here for you if you need to talk," while Gabrielle Union spoke on behalf of herself and Dwyane Wade, commenting, "We love you guys so much and we will be here for whatever yall need. Always." Angelina Jolie's 'Girl, Interrupted' costar named on Brad Pitt's witness list for custody trial
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's custody trial is expected to get underway in Los Angeles on Oct. 5, almost exactly four years after Angelina filed for divorce. And according to Us Weekly, the actress could see at least one unexpected familiar face take the stand. Included in the witness list Brad's lawyers filed Sept. 21 Jillian Armenante, who won an Academy Award for her work alongside Angelina in 2000's "Girl, Interrupted." She and Angelina also teamed up for the 2007 film, "A Mighty Heart." The witness list also reportedly includes "psychologists, a therapist and security consultants," Us reports. Brad will also testify and his attorneys are expected to cross-examine Angelina, according to the filing. The former couple, whose divorce was previously bifurcated, returning them both to single status, haven't been able to agree on permanent terms of custody for the five children under the age of 18 that they share. Their eldest, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, is 19.
Meghan and Harry launch 'BHM Next Gen Trailblazers' — and share an Archie update
To honor the start of Black History Month in the U.K., Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan issued a call for citizens there to take advantage of the current climate as a means of ending "structural racism." In partnership with the Evening Standard, the couple launched a new campaign this week called BHM Next Gen Trailblazers. As they explained in a joint essay and interview with the Standard, the campaign is a way of recognizing, "notable leaders whose influence is making a positive and lasting impact on British culture." The couple has also asked the leaders they've nominated to in turn nominate "another member of the black community in Britain whose cause-driven work is creating a lasting legacy for the next generation of Brits." The full list, available at ES.com, reflects the "awakening" to issues around race and discrimination Harry said he's had since he met Meghan, who is bi-racial. In the interview that accompanied their essay, Meghan also shared an update on the couple's 1-year-old son, Archie. "We are doing well. [Archie] is so good," she said with a smile. "We are very lucky with our little one. He is just so busy, he is all over the place. He keeps us on our toes. We are just so lucky." Having stepped down from their royal positions, Harry, Meghan and Archie are now living in Santa Barbara as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex work to establish their nonprofit, Archewell, while advocating for racial justice, equal access to education and other issues that matter most to them.
Jay-Z, Meek Mill celebrate California's 'transformative' new probation law
Probation sentences will no longer drag on for years in California after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed bill AB 1950 into law Wednesday, putting a one-year maximum probation limit for misdemeanors and a two-year limit for felonies for adults. That's partially thanks to the lobbying work of Jay-Z and Meek Mill's REFORM Alliance, which advocates for policies and laws that will "dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system – starting with probation and parole," according to the organization's website. "I want to thank Governor Newsom for his leadership in signing AB 1950, the most transformative probation bill in this country to date," Jay said in a statement via Team Roc's social media. "This is a first step that I hope introduces a wave of much needed change throughout the country." The governor also signed off on police policy and criminal justice reforms including a ban on the use of carotid restraint chokeholds during arrests, according to Billboard. Jay and Meek launched the REFORM Alliance after Meek was subjected to multiple lengthy prison terms, including stints in solitary confinement, for minor violations of a 10 years-long parole, following charges for a nonviolent crime he maintains he did not commit. In 2018, Time deemed him the new "face of criminal justice reform."
Kristen Bell is 'beyond proud' of Dax Shepard for coming clean on relapse
After revealing he'd recently relapsed in his sobriety and had been abusing Vicodin, Dax Shepard told listeners on his podcast he was surprised but grateful to find so much support after his mistake. It turns out his wife, Kristen Bell, was a huge part of that support system, even though he kept his drug use from her initially. A source tells Us Weekly the actor was too "ashamed" and afraid he'd "hurt" Kristen if she learned he was using substances again, so he kept it to himself as long as he could. "Eventually, he couldn't hide it from her any longer and he had to come clean," the source says. "She was nothing but supportive and there's no blame or anger on her side — just love, care and determination to get through this together. Her heart aches for Dax after what he went through with his dad, and she's beyond proud of him for turning his life around whilst openly addressing his demons head-on." The couple shares two daughters. Their seventh wedding anniversary is coming up later this month.
Shia LaBeouf charged with two misdemeanors following June altercation
Shia LaBeouf has been charged with petty theft and battery months after he allegedly stole "a man's hat" in Los Angeles during an altercation in June. Page Six reports the misdemeanor charges didn't land until Sept. 24, in part because of a police investigation into the matter. Authorities reportedly found Shia, 34, was "the aggressor." Though the actor has struggled with addiction issues, physical confrontations and arrests in the past, this was his first such incident since 2017, when he reportedly spewed racist and homophobic epithets while being arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice.
