Kim Kardashian shows off North and Saint West's epic side-eye skills
They say all's fair in love and war. Well, North West and her brother Saint West are here to prove all's fair in siblinghood and war, too. On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Kim Kardashian West shared photos of her kids sharing what started out as a tender moment at home together. Somewhere on the way from the first to the third photo of North, Saint and their baby brother, Psalm West, the mood, uh … changed. "It was going so good….," Kim captioned the gallery, telling her followers to "swipe ➡️ 😂" to the pic that followed cute shots of North holding Psalm and Saint flashing a peace sign. Indeed, the last photo in the bunch revealed the epic degree of stank eye 7-year-old North and 3-year-old Saint are capable of delivering to one another. Kim's admitted in the past that North is not a fan of Saint, telling Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest in 2017 that what she hoped was "a phase" of North not liking her brother had yet to "go away." The sibs' relationship seemed to be on the upswing earlier this summer, though, when Kim posted a video from Saint's first appearance in the choir at Kanye West's Sunday Service. "This was Saints first time so North made sure he knew the words," Kim captioned the video, adding, "She is so nice to Saint now lol." Kim's family, friends and followers at least got a kick out of the shots. Courtney Love posted a DIY side-eye Emoji while others admitted the photo shoot cracked them up. Kim's sisters chimed in, too, but mostly just shared sweet comments about how "beautiful" and big the kids are. Guess growing up in a family of five girls makes tuning out side-eye a key life skill.

Pamela Anderson still slips into her 'Baywatch' swimsuit to surprise her dates
With the end of summer just a few weeks away, the New York Times is taking a look at one of pop culture's most iconic summertime fashion pieces: the scoop-necked, hip-baring red swimsuit made famous in the '90s by Pamela Anderson, Carmen Elektra and their female "Baywatch" costars. The feature's pegged to the fact that Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and other stars have been spotted rocking similar swimwear cuts this summer — but they're not the only ones. Pam, now 52, mused that "maybe it was the people in the bathing suit that made it more exciting," since they "were kind of the California dream." She also revealed she still fits into her original red lifeguard suit, even though it was so "tiny" that it "just stretched and pulled onto your body." While Carmen said her original suit is framed and displayed in her house, Pam said has a slightly more playful way of keeping hers in operation — by "slipping into it every now and then," according to the Times, and "surprising whomever she's dating." She admits: "I jump in the shower with a bathing suit and then jump on them wherever they are in the house, soaking wet." A solid move for any date-night arsenal!

Mindy Kaling and her mini-me wear matching glitter sandals in rare pic
Eep! Mindy Kaling rarely shares photos of her 1-year-old daughter Kit on Instagram but she made an understandable exception on Monday, Aug. 19, when she showed off an adorable mini-me moment of her little one sitting on her lap wearing the exact same shoes as mama. "Got these little @ohjoyco pons sandals for me and Kit," Mindy captioned the shot. "Glitter is our aesthetic. 💞." The "Four Weddings and a Funeral" star's post quickly got props from some of her famous friends, including Reese Witherspoon, who noted, "Glitter is your signature color," and Ellie Kemper, who gushed about how sweet the photo was. Mindy, 40, lost her own mom to cancer eight years ago and as she admitted on social media this past Mother's Day, the holiday used to fill her with "dread" because it would magnify how much she missed her mother. "But this year, I feel lucky to have my daughter," she wrote at the time, "because telling her stories about her grandmother is a great distraction." A little glitter never hurts, either.
Patrick Dempsey says his kids 'make fun of' his hearththrob status
Patrick Dempsey may forever be "McDreamy" to Grey's Anatomy fans, but that honor doesn't get him too far at home. Speaking to ET on Sunday, Aug. 18, at a benefit for the American Cancer Society, Patrick, 53, admitted that his kids find the whole heartthrob status thing kind of hilarious. "Oh yeah, they make fun of me. They don't let me take my stuff too seriously, which is good," he said of the 17-year-old daughter Tallula and 12-year-old sons Sullivan and Darby he shares with wife Jillian Fink. "I mean, I'm just dad, so … either you're 'cool dad' or not. It depends on where they're at in their development and age," he added. Patrick was at the event representing his non-profit cancer support foundation, the Dempsey Center, which was honored with the ACS 2019 Impact Award for its work improving the quality of life for those impacted by cancer.
Mariah Carey accuses former assistant of leaking private medical records
The lawsuit Mariah Carey filed earlier this year against a former assistant now encompasses new allegations about the woman Mariah says tried to blackmail her for $8 million. According to new documents excerpted by The Blast, Mimi claims Lianna Shakhnazaryan has repeatedly breached their non-disclosure agreement since the singer initially took her to court for allegedly filming videos of Mariah without her consent and trying to use them against her. Mariah us reportedly accusing Lianna or "third parties" she was directing" of leaking "information concerning Mariah's personal, medical, and professional affairs to the press." Mariah further claims that "the nature of the Confidential Information that was disclosed leaves no doubt" Lianna "was behind the stories" that surfaced as a result. She's now demanding an additional $2 million in damages on top of the $3 million she asked for in the first filing. Lianna, meanwhile, is suing Mariah and her former manager Stella Bulochnikov for "wrongful termination, whistleblower retaliation, and harassment," according to The Blast.
Celine Dion rejects 'queen of fashion' title: 'I'm the boss'
At 51, Celine Dion is shifting into high gear when it comes to embracing change and finding opportunities to reinvent herself — and fashion's playing a key role. The singer, who made a splash last month at the Iris van Herpen Haute Couture Fashion Week show, appears on two covers of CR Fashion Book's all-important September issue. Photographed by Valentin Herfray in varying degrees of digital distortion all over Paris, Celine's new spread gave her the chance to see herself from yet another new perspective, an experience she tells the magazine she relished. "I mean, five years ago I would never let [a photographer] near up past my kneecap, you know?"she admits (via People). "Who would go under my tutu? Nobody. I mean, nobody. My husband, that was it. But I was just like, 'Alright, here we go!'" Though she's been pegged as the "new queen of fashion" since her style started to change after the 2016 death of her husband, Rene Angelil, Celine rejects that title. "I never really like to see myself as the queen. I'm not playing queen, I don't want to be the queen. I'm the boss," she explains. "That's different. I'm the mother, I'm the boss, I'm in charge of my decisions with my team. I try to make the best of myself, to accomplish something, to always put the bar as high as I can." That includes her style standards. Drawn to pieces that make her "feel sexy, approachable, fierce, edgy, glamorous, fun," Celine says clothes "help me to express myself, as if borrowing characters to help me perform… They're like songs. I don't do ballads all the time; I have up-tempo songs as well. So I don't want to wear gowns on stage all the time. Sometimes I want to be a little bit more edgy." She's headed back on the road as well, kicking off a tour on Sept. 18 in support of her new album, "Courage." As for the possibility she might pursue a "fashion empire" of her own? "The best is yet to come for me, so I wouldn't say no to anything right now," Celine says. "There are so many projects, so many people are coming to me, which is very exciting."
Alyssa Milano reveals she had two abortions in 1993: 'It was absolutely the right choice for me'
In 1993, Alyssa Milano was, as she put it on the latest edition of her Sorry, Not Sorry podcast, "in love for the first time, in the breathless way you can only be in love when you are young." She was also taking birth control, in large part because of her prescription for Accutane, which is known to cause birth defects. In spite of being on the pill, Alyssa got pregnant — twice. She had an abortion both times because she knew she was not ready to be a mother. Now 46 and married with children — and acutely aware of conservative state-driven pushes to ban abortion in most, if not all cases — the actress is sharing her story in an effort to shed light on the many different life situations in which a woman may get pregnant and be unable to bring the child into the world. After describing her positive relationship with her boyfriend at the time and her decision to go on the pill, Alyssa recalled: "I still got pregnant. It was devastating. I was raised Catholic and was suddenly put in conflict with my faith," she said (via THR). "I had a career and a future and potential. And also, I suffered from sometimes crippling anxiety." She continued: "… I knew at that time, I was not equipped to be a mother. And so I chose to have an abortion. … It was my choice. And it was absolutely the right choice for me. It was not an easy choice. It was not something I wanted, but it was something that I needed, like most health care is." She added that following the "devastating" procedures, she was able to "enjoy a sexual relationship with the man I loved" because "sexually connecting with my partner gave me pleasure." Alyssa also pointed out that in both cases, she "had done what I knew to do to prevent pregnancy and was still pregnant," and said she still knows it "was the right decision." As she wrapped up the podcast, Alyssa asserted that she will never "live in the narrative that sexual pleasure is for men and that women exist to deliver that pleasure," adding that the abortions she endured allowed her to have "beautiful, perfect, loving, kind and inquisitive children who have a mother who was so very, very ready for them," as well as a career, an "amazing husband and a "platform … to fight against oppression." Finally, Alyssa said that without those abortions, "I would never have been free to be myself. And that's what this fight is all about — freedom," Milano added. "Freedom from oppression. Freedom for women to have the audacity to be equally sexual beings as men … The reasons of all the women who have had abortions are real," she said. "… We told these none of your business stories not because we wanted to, we told them because our voice is just about the only thing that male-dominated government is leaving women for now. I for one will never stop using my voice. Sorry, not sorry."
Ryan Phillippe asks court to keep Reese Witherspoon, other exes, out of assault trial
As Ryan Phillippe and his ex-girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, prepare to go to court on Sept. 6 over Elsie's claim Ryan assaulted her at his home in Los Angeles, Ryan is asking a judge to block Elsie from deposing his ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon. The Blast reports Elsie has been trying to depose Reese in an effort to bring her testimony about their eight-year marriage into evidence against Ryan in the trial. In court documents, Ryan's lawyer says the actor's relationship with Reese is irrelevant to Elsie's claim Ryan grabbed Elsie and threw her down a staircase after an argument. Ryan has maintained he never got into a physical altercation with Elsie and instead treated her "with kindness and respect." He also says Elsie has failed to detail her reasons for deposing Reese. "Although divorced, they maintain a pleasant relationship with each other and their child," his lawyer writes. "The nature of their marriage and its termination, as well as their ongoing relationship could only be used in this trial for improper purposes." Ryan also wants to keep previous police reports that may implicate him as well as information about previous relationships and "dietary supplements" to be kept out of the trial. The supplements detail is presumably related to Elsie's allegation Ryan was using drugs during their relationship.
Susan Sarandon takes a dig at Elizabeth Warren during Bernie Sanders campaign event
Just a few years ago, Susan Sarandon spoke out on social media in support of Elizabeth Warren, posting tweets like, "I want a woman to be Pres. The RIGHT woman. Looking at you @SenWarren." She no longer seems to feel that way. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 72-year-old star and longtime Bernie Sanders supporter was in Iowa on Monday, Aug. 19, where she was due to introduce presidential candidate Sanders at the Cedar County for Bernie Ice Cream Social. Rather than stick with Sanders' generally positive M.O. when it comes to his opponent, Warren, Sarandon slipped a dis into her intro, telling the crowd, "[Sanders] is not someone who used to be a Republican," in reference to Warren's admission she was a registered Republican in the '90s. "He is not someone who used to take money — or still takes money — from Wall Street. He is the real deal," added Sarandon, who has made substantial donations to Sanders' campaign. Warren, for her part, said in a 2014 interview that she split with the GOP after seeing the party move away from being "principled in its conservative approach to economics and to markets" in favor of supporting a "tilted" rather than a "level playing field."
Zoe Kravitz is horrified people use Botox to stop sweating
In the wake of Chrissy Teigen's up-close-and-personal revelation that she gets Botox in her armpits to keep them from sweating, Zoe Kravitz aired some grievances about the practice in a new Q&A with Vogue. Asked a handful of questions about her approach to beauty and stress relief, Zoe told the mag she ditches nerves with "wine, weed and sleep" and regrets having made the beauty mistake of wearing too much makeup in the past. She then sounded off on the beauty trend she finds most shocking — Botox injected into nerves that cause us to sweat under our arms. "That is the dumbest, scariest thing I've ever heard," Zoe declared. "Don't do that—sweating is key." Noted.
