Katy Perry supports California mudslide survivors, first responders

Having grown up just north of Santa Barbara, Katy Perry was devastated when 21 people died in the Jan. 9 mudslides in nearby Montecito, California. In an effort to support first responders and victims affected by the disaster, Katy made a surprise appearance over the weekend at the One 805 Kick Ash Bash in Carpinteria, California, where she performed three songs and shared a tender moment with 14-year-old Lauren Cantin, whose father was killed in the mudslide that destroyed her home and may have killed her brother (he remains missing). According to the Daily Mail, Katy dedicated "Firework" to Lauren during her performance. "This means the world to me," she told CNN. "This is where I flourish. My heart was broken by the tragedy, the mudslide. I'll do anything to help this community." Her appearance at the fundraiser may have already helped — by the end of the day, the event had reportedly raised almost $2 million.

Heidi Klum, 44, will continue modeling lingerie as long as she darn well pleases. That was the confident message she delivered on the Monday, Feb. 26, edition of "Ellen," where the seemingly ageless supermodel was chatting about her new Heidi Klum Intimates line. "Sometimes people say, 'You're 44, you're turning 45, why are you not giving the baton to someone else?'" Heidi explained, according to the New York Post. "But I think there's a lot of women my age, 50, 60, 70 — what, do we have an expiration date? Can we not also still feel sexy? Why do we always have to see 20-year-olds or 30-year-olds in campaigns? Why can an older woman [not] also be in a campaign? So I'm still doing it until I don't feel like doing it anymore." Heidi, who's been spotted enjoying some mutually flirtatious behavior with Adrien Brody in recent weeks, also dished on being, as she put it, "single and ready to mingle," picking Drake and Joaquin Phoenix in Ellen's "Who'd You Rather" game. Sorry, Adrien!

Happy birthday, Apollo Rossdale! Gwen Stefani went all out for her youngest son's Scooby-Doo-themed fourth birthday party on Sunday, Feb. 25, donning a Daphne costume and posing for a few selfies with Shaggy — aka Blake Shelton — on Instagram. Pics from the bash (via E! News) show the kids playing in a bouncy house and checking out a puppet show courtesy of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, among other fun activities. The birthday, meanwhile, dressed up as Scooby himself. If Apollo's dad, Gwen's ex, Gavin Rossdale, joined in the festivities, he seems to have kept a low profile as he didn't appear in any of Gwen's shots.

Fantasy In Bloom, the 24th perfume Britney Spears has released with Elizabeth Arden since 2004, took home the Fragrance of the Year prize at the Hollywood Beauty Awards on Sunday, Feb. 25. Brit's sons, Sean and Jayden, however, were a little confused about where their mom was heading as she left the house. "When I was getting ready this evening, my sons were like, 'Mom, are you going to the Oscars?'" Britney recalled (via E! News). "I said, 'Well, it's kind of like the Oscars, and I won the biggest award there," she continued. "They were jumping up and down, and I felt really proud—but they were just ready to get my a– out of the house!" She went on to thank the organization for the honor before teasing, "HBA, shall I tell my sons we have a date for this time next year?" Elizabeth Banks, Samuel L. Jackson and "The Walking Dead" and "Black Panther" star Danai Gurira also attended the ceremony.

Amal Clooney will attend March For Our Lives because her children's 'lives literally depend on it'

Like many Americans, Amal Clooney and her husband George Clooney have nothing but praise for the survivors of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Feb. 14. When Amal took the stage to speak at the 2018 Watermark Conference for Women in San Jose, California, she spent some time explaining what moved her and her husband to donate $500,000 to the March for Our Lives anti-gun violence protest being organized by Everytown For Gun Safety and five of the students who survived when their schoolmate Nikolas Cruz, opened fire, on them. "I am just blown away by these students. I think they are doing an amazing job turning a tragedy into advocacy," Amal told the crowd, according to PopSugar. "It's only been a week since this happened and I'm in awe of how courageous they are and how effective they are. I would never have had the possession of mind or the courage at 16 years old, let alone having just gone through what they have, to be able to stand face to face with the president, a senator, the NRA, and answer those tough questions." She went on to declare the students the world's "best vehicle and best hope for change," adding that she and George planned to attend the march because their children's "lives will literally depend on it." Echoing a sentiment Oprah Winfrey also shared with press over the weekend, she added that the march belongs to the students who will be irrevocably changed from what they endured on Feb. 14 and others like them. "The new generation, the young people, feel empowered to make a change, and frankly, they are the ones who should have the platform," she said. "The march we're attending, it's their march. They are the ones that are going to be speaking, and if someone tries to tell them what the reality is, their response should be, 'Well, I was the one hiding in the closet a week ago, so let me tell you how I feel and this is what would make me feel safe.' Watching them gives me a lot of hope."

Oprah Winfrey compares anti-gun violence movement to Civil Rights Movement

As plans get underway across the country for the March for Our Lives protest against gun violence in the wake of the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, Oprah Winfrey can't help but see parallels between the youth-driven demand for revised gun laws and the Civil Rights Movement. "Young people said, 'We will not tolerate what our ancestors have tolerated. We've had enough and we're willing to fight for it and we're willing to march in the streets for it and, if necessary, die for it,'" she recently told the Associated Press (via Vulture) during an interview to promote "A Wrinkle In Time." While she pledged to match George and Amal Clooney's $500,000 donation to the march, she also said she might not physically join the protest on March 24. "I think it's necessary that they be the leaders of this march," she explained. "You want to hear from them. This is their march." Other celebs who have vocalized their support of revised gun legislation include Mark Ruffalo, who recently slammed Donald Trump for suggesting teachers should be armed in schools, and Steven Spielberg, who made a large donation to the upcoming march.

Justin Bieber's got a new pad. TMZ reports the singer recently signed a lease for a $17.9 million home in the West Hollywood section of Los Angeles. Overlooking the Sunset Strip, the new digs represent a downsize for the Biebs, whose last rental featured six bedrooms and more overall space. The new spot has just three bedrooms, along with an infinity pool, a DJ booth-inspired master closet and great views of the city. He's reportedly paying about $55,000 a month for the place — the same amount he was paying for the six-bedroom home.

Drake's book of old handwritten lyrics could go for $54k

How much would you pay for one of Drake's old notebooks? The folks at MomentsInTime.com are hoping the answer is somewhere in the five-figure range. According to TMZ, a purple spiral notebook featuring pages of handwritten notes, rare lyrics, as well as signatures and personal information like phone and credit card numbers, was found in Drake's grandfather's furniture factory in Toronto. A worker there apparently dug it up and is now selling it for the low, low price of $54,000.

Jennifer Lawrence says shooting nude scenes for 'Red Sparrow' was 'empowering'

Going into the shooting of "Red Sparrow," Jennifer Lawrence was not OK with the idea of acting in nothing but her birthday suit. "I was terrified. I don't think I have ever been so scared of doing a movie before in my life. It was a lot of firsts for me. Cool, so I'm really naked getting freezing cold water poured on me," she says in a new interview for "60 Minutes" (via the New York Post). Something about taking it all off changed her perspective though. "I mean it was empowering for me personally," she explained. "I feel like I didn't even really realize until I had finished that scene how much fear and insecurity and a complex of being judged had been following me for so many years, and when I finished it, I ended up thanking [director Francis Lawrence] — which might sound crazy but also we're talking about a world of deceit and corruption and abuse and abuse to women through the lens of a woman who regains her freedom through losing her intellect and I don't think there is a better time for this movie than right now." Jen, who was among the stars who had personal nude photos leaked online in 2014, added that the experience ultimately helped her. "I feel like something that was taken from me I got back and am using in my art," she said.

A source tells The Sun the singer has been working diligently to help her six children realize their dreams by "using her influence to build them incredible careers." She reportedly relocated to Lisbon, Portugal so her 12-year-old son David Banda could attend the Benfica youth academy, the kids' arm of Portuguese soccer champs S.L. Benfica. Her daughter Lourdes, 21, is set to focus on becoming a professional dancer after she graduates from college, where she's studying musical theater, according to the insider. Madge's 17-year-old son, Rocco, is reportedly interested in becoming a painter — a move his mom is helping with by "lining up the best contacts for him in London's art scene," the source says, while her 12-year-old daughter Mercy is already writing her own rap songs. As for her own career, Madge is reportedly back in the studio, working on a follow-up to 2015's "Rebel Heart."
