The wait is over! On Nov. 7, 2021, fans were reunited with their favorite serial killer when "Dexter: New Blood" debuted on Showtime. In honor of the premiere, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at what the cast members from the original "Dexter" series are up to now!

On "Dexter," Michael C. Hall took on the titular role of Dexter Morgan, a forensic blood spatter analyst at the Miami Metro Police Department by day — and a serial killer who targets other murderers by night.

After "Dexter" ended in 2013, Michael C. Hall starred in 2014's "Cold in July." He's since appeared in a handful of projects including the films "Christine," "After Adderall" and "Game Night" as well as an episode of "The Crown" (as President John F. Kennedy) in 2017. In addition to starring on the British miniseries "Safe" in 2018, Michael had a starring role in the 2020 crime-drama series "The Defeated" opposite Taylor Kitsch. Acting isn't his only talent — Michael is also the lead singer of the experimental rock band Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum. (In fact, they released their latest album, "THANKS FOR COMING," in early 2021. As for his personal life? The Hodgkin's lymphoma survivor, whose divorce from "Dexter" co-star Jennifer Carpenter was finalized in 2011, married novelist and book reviewer Morgan Macgregor on Feb. 29, 2016 — yup, on Leap Day.

Jennifer Carpenter played Debra Morgan, Dexter's foster sister who's a police lieutenant in the Miami Metro Homicide Division. She's known for having bad relationships with men.

Jennifer Carpenter has played a couple of characters with the same name since her "Dexter" days. In 2014, she starred as Rebekah in the horror flick "The Devil's Hand" and in 2015, she took on the role of Rebecca Carpenter on the TV series "Limitless." In 2019, she starred on the short-lived NBC drama series "The Enemy Within." More recently, Jennifer lent her voice to the character of Sonya Blade in 2020's "Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge" and 2021's "Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms." Like ex-husband Michael C. Hall, Jennifer also found love again: She and folk musician Seth Avett began dating in 2013, and in May 2015, they welcomed son Isaac. One year later, they married over Memorial Day weekend.

Julie Benz played Dexter's long-suffering wife, Rita Bennett. Dexter genuinely loved Rita and was devastated when she was murdered by another serial killer in what was perhaps the most shocking moment of the entire series.

After "Dexter," Julie Benz appeared on several TV shows including "Desperate Housewives," "No Ordinary Family," "Defiance" and "Hawaii Five-O." She's since gone on to grace the small screen several more times, starring on the short-lived CBS series "Training Day" and the equally short-lived comedy series "On Becoming a God in Central Florida," which starred Kirsten Dunst. More recently, she popped up on four episodes of Hulu's "Love, Victor" and starred in the television movie "Secrets of a Gold Digger Killer." As for Julie's personal life? She married Firebrand LA co-founder Rich Orosco on May 5, 2012.

On "Dexter," David Zayas played Angel Juan Marcos Batista, a detective in the Miami Metro Police Department's Homicide Division. He was also Dexter's best friend who used him for his expert advice on serial killers.

Since wrapping up his role as Angel on "Dexter," David Zayas has consistently worked on television, starring in everything from "Saint George" and "Gotham" to "The Black List" and "Bloodline." He also played Lou in the 2014 movie version of "Annie." Since 2017, David has played Governor Martin Mendez on the hit television series "Blue Bloods." David's next film is 2022's "Eli Moran."

Desmond Harrington played Miami Metro Homicide Detective Joseph "Joey" Quinn on "Dexter." While he was very attractive, he also had a hot temper and a rep as a womanizer.

Desmond Harrington has continued to act since "Dexter." He was Bronte on "Those Who Kill," Alan Shepard on "The Astronaut Wives Club" and FBI Agent Casey Rooks on "Limitless." In 2018, he landed a role on "Elementary" and in 2020, he appeared on the anthology series "Manhunt." Although Desmond — who appeared in the buzzy 2016 film "Neon Demon" — famously dated Amanda Seyfried during his "Dexter" days, it's unclear if he's currently in a relationship now.

Lauren Vélez took on the role of Maria LaGuerta, a police lieutenant who becomes captain of the Miami Metro Homicide Division — and Dexter and Debra Morgan's boss. She and Debra don't really get along.

Lauren Vélez has been on a handful of shows since "Dexter." Her most notable role was playing Tetra on "South of Hell," though she's also booked some great guest-starring stints on shows including "Unforgettable," "Elementary" and "How to Get Away with Murder." She's since popped up on the television shows "MacGyver" and "Blue Bloods" and has appeared in the films "The First Purge," "Windows on the World," "Shaft," "New York Undercover" and "Ana." In 2018, Lauren lent her voice to Rio Morales in "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." Her most recent role was in the 2021 action-thriller film "Rogue Hostage" in which she appeared alongside Tyrese Gibson and John Malkovich. Lauren filed to divorce her husband of 22 years, Mark Gordon, in 2015.

C.S. Lee starred as Vince Masuka, the police department's lead forensic science investigator who works with Dexter in the lab and at crime scenes. He's also the department's resident jokester who always manages to say something inappropriate.

After "Dexter," C.S. Lee's next big TV role was on "True Detective." In addition to appearing in the shows "Fresh Off the Boat" and "Power," from 2018 to 2019, C.S. had a recurring role on "Chicago Med." He hasn't slowed down either: In 2020, he appeared in the shows "All Rise" and "Rookie." In 2021, he was on an episode of Comedy Central's "Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens." He has two films on the horizon: "Day Shift" and "How to Talk with Spirits."

James Remar played Detective Harry Morgan, Dexter's adoptive father. Although he died 10 years before the story starts off, he appeared in flashbacks during the first two seasons and then showed up as a ghost who gives advice to Dexter.

After "Dexter," James Remar went to "Grey's Anatomy" for a handful of episodes. He's popped up on numerous shows including "The Shannara Chronicles," "The Path, "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Animal Kingdom," "Magnum P.I." and "Black Lightning." He also appeared in Quentin Tarantino's lauded film "Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood" in 2019. More recently, he popped up on a 2021 episode of "Creepshow."

Thomas Matthews, played by Geoff Pierson, was the deputy chief of the Miami Metro Homicide Division until he retired and Maria LaGuerta took over. He was also the late Harry Morgan's best friend.

Geoff Pierson has had a couple of big TV roles since "Dexter." He played Mr. Smith on "Castle" and Pierce Gray on "The Brink." He also got to reunite with his "Dexter" co-star Desmond Harrington for an episode of "The Astronaut Wives Club" when he guest-starred as Jim Matthis and appeared on the shows "Splitting Up Together," "The Face of Evil" and "Designated Survivor." In 2014, he co-starred with Hilary Swank in the film "You're Not You" and more recently, he was in the 2020 movie "The Wrong Missy" alongside David Spade and Lauren Lapkus.

Christina Robinson starred as Astor Bennett, the daughter of Rita and Bill Bennett. Dexter becomes her stepfather after marrying Rita. While at first Astor is skeptical of Dexter, their bond grows over time.

Christina Robinson has been in three movies since her "Dexter" days: 2016's "Emma's Chance," 2018's "The Manor" and 2019's "Philophobia: or the Fear of Falling in Love." Next up, she'll appear in three more movies: "Captive," "Trondora" and "Asgaya Part 2 — The Ib."
